Updated and Expanded Class of 2013 Player Rankings

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

It has been a little over 2 months since we came out with our initial Class of 2013 player rankings which included the top 25 players in Kentucky.  We have had the opportunity to see, evaluate, and discuss many more players since those initial rankings were released.  Thus, we have not only updated, but also expanded the rankings to include the top 75 players in the class of 2013.

Hunter Green, Warren East HS, moves up a spot to sit at the top.  With a premium on left-handed pitching, the 6-foot-4, 160-pound Green is a rare talent.  He has a long, loose arm and features a fastball that sits around 90 mph, touching 92.  He throws an 84 mph cutter to go along with a 74-76 mph sharp curveball and 80-83 mph changeup with good arm action.  Everything Green throws has plus movement, and he has as much upside as any pitcher in the game in the class of 2013.

Clinton Hollon, Woodford County HS, sits in the 2 spot.  Hollon is another extrememly rare talent in the class of 2013.  In fact, Green and Hollon are ranked 2 and 3 in the PBR overall 2013 rankings which include our entire 8 state coverage area.  Hollon has an arm you just don't see very often at the high school level.  His fastball sits 92-94 mph and occasionally touches 96-97.

Connor Heady, North Oldham HS, rounds out the top 3.  The left-handed hitting SS is a 6.5 runner with 92 mph arm strength across the infield.  Heady is also ranked #6 in the PBR overall rankings.

The top ten is rounded out by  Andrew Harrington ( LHP, Central Hardin HS), Javon Shelby (OF/SS, Tates Creek HS), Will Smith (2B/RHP, Kentucky Country Day HS), Brennen Milby (RHP, Green County HS), Tanner Norton (C/1B, Bishop Brossart HS), Blake Tiberi (3B, Holy Cross HS), and Even Fraliex (3B/RHP, Lexington Catholic HS)
