VA/DC Class of 2024 Rankings: Top 25

It is with great excitement that we release to you today, our most recent update to the Virginia/DC Class of 2024 rankings with our Top 25 release. Following today's Top 25 release, we will unveil the Top 100 on Wednesday, and Top 250 on Thursday. Following the release of our expanded 2024 rankings, we will highlight a few big risers in the rankings on Friday, as well as highlight nationally ranked players from VA/DC.
Staying at #1 in the class is South Carolina commit, Dalton Wentz. The Amherst shortstop has been tearing it up this year, with eight homeruns through the end of last week. The switch hitting infielder and Future Games alum has been a steady presence at the top of the state rankings over the past year.

We have four new faces inside of the Top 10, including three pitchers. Logan Eisenreich jumps over fifteen spots to #7. The Paul VI ace was recently up to 93 and shows improving secondary, including a slider that is in the low 80's and is his best secondary pitch.

The Tuscarora ace, Brendan Cowen, moves up ten spots to #8. The lanky left hander has been dominant for the Huskies. The velo still has room to grow, we have had him up to 88 this spring, but it is the arm slot, mentality, and the slider that make this a high ceiling arm in the 2024 class. Last week Cowen threw a complete game with fifteen strikeouts and only allowed two hits. Cowen only faced twenty-five hitters, striking out sixty-percent of the batters he faced and throwing over seventy-percent strikes.

Moving into the #10 spot, and making the biggest jump of anyone in the top fifty, is Cayden Suchy. The UConn commit has been one of the best arms in NOVA this spring and showed his upside to our staff a few weeks ago. Suchy was up to 90 and it is the slider that is the separator for the Dominion left hander. While he moved up over seventy spots, there is plenty of ceiling left for this arm.

The UCONN commit had his good stuff today. Was able to overpower with the fastball and had a plus breaking ball as well
