Today we are proud to release to you our High School Stock Report, where PBR VA/DC staffers (Jason Burton, John Nolan, and Jerry Shank) join together to make our picks for who we think will win championships across all the levels of VHSL and VISAA.
How did we do it? Well we have created a point system between the three of us. We rank teams 1-7 in 4A, 5A, 6A, VISAA DI, and VISAA DII. We went 1-5 in VHSL 1A, 2A, 3A, and VISAA DIII. The rankings have nothing to do with our VA/DC Power25, its all just our predictions as to who we think have the best shot to win a title and we rank them accordingly. Each rank has a point value attached, and we add up all the point totals from our staffers to give you the final product. Rankings go from most points down. The point values are as follows:
1 = 7 pts.
2 = 6 pts.
3 = 5 pts.
4 = 4 pts.
5 = 3 pts.
6 = 2 pts.
7 = 1 pt.
The final stock report will have 4A, 5A, 6A, VISAA DI, and VISAA DII ranked No. 1 - 5. VHSL 1A, 2A, 3A, and VISAA DIII are ranked No. 1 - 3
All of this is based off if the playoffs started tomorrow. We will update this weekly up to the quarterfinals for each association. Again, this is all prediction based and nothing to do with our Power25, which has a different metric. Enough with the talk, lets take a look at our first High School Stock Report.
