#20 Lake Braddock 11, South Lakes 3

The Seahawks opened up a 3-0 lead in the third inning before the Bruin bats awakened and power Braddock to the semifinals. Jaime Laskofski was 3-4 with 5 RBI and Evan Schick was 3-3 with a 2B, and 2 RBI. Ken McKeever drove in 3 runs and he, Quincy Via (Marymount), and Daniel Lipovski had multi-hit games. Colin Casey (Randolph-Macon), Robert Reddington, and Noah Brogan had 2 hits each for South Lakes.

#3 Freedom (South Riding) 7, Manchester 5
The Eagles rode a 5-run fourth inning to a 7-2 lead and then hung on to win as Ryan Marohn (NC State) came in to close the game out, escaping a sixth inning jam and then firing a scoreless seventh. Cal Henderson (Louisburg CC) was 2-3 with a 2B, a BB, and 2 RBI and Mason Butash (Penn State) was also 2-4 with an RBI. Austin Riney (Lynchburg) was 3-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI and threw 3.2 innings of 2-hit scoreless relief for the Lancers while Donovan Jeffrey had a home run.

#19 Herndon 7, West Springfield 6
The Hornets survived an upset-minded Spartans team. Graham Sears (Stevenson) tied the game with a 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and Mitch Maurer had a walk-off single in the tenth as the Hornets won their third straight extra-inning game. Hill Naski (James Madison) was 4-5 with 2 2Bs and 2 RBI, Jack Morgan hit a home run, and Jackson Coen (Georgetown) struck out 8 in 3.2 innings of relief during the Herndon comeback. Kaleb Williams hit a home run for West Springfield and Henry Pastel allowed just 2 hits in 4 innings.

#15 Glen Allen 4, #10 Independence 3

#17 Nansemond River 17, Hickory 9
The Warriors fought back from deficits of 4-0 and 6-3 to send this game to extra innings, and then exploded for an 11-run eighth inning to advance to the semifinals over rival Hickory. Chase Magrisi was 3-5 with a home run and 3 RBI, coming a 3B short of the Cycle. Cam Bauswell was 5-5 with 3 RBI and Ayden Stuffel (CNU) had 6 RBIs in a multi-hit game. Ashton Smith was 4-5 with 2 RBI for Hickory and Austin Jones homered for Hickory.

Granby 5, Frank Cox 0
Daniel Smith tossed 5.2 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts while Jaxon Gonzalez was 2-4 with 2 RBI and Jacob Avant had 2 RBI as well in the win for the Comets. Austin Irby (East Carolina) and Joe Munitz had multi-hit games for Cox.

#23 James Wood 5, Salem (Salem) 1

Monacan 5, Grafton 3
The Chiefs scored 2 in the top of the seventh to win the game after Grafton had rallied back from a 3-0 deficit. Arthur Garnett delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh. Cole Macomson (Lynchburg) threw a complete game, allowing just 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Jake Williams was 3-4 with an RBI and Jaden Greenidge (Lincoln University) and Reid Ivey were both 2-4 in the win. Frankie Engel was 2-4 for the Clippers.

Jefferson Forest 8, #22 Millbrook 0
The Cavaliers rode a 7-run second inning to victory. Breckin Nace threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball with 8 strikeouts in the win. Sam Bell (UMBC) was 3-3 with a 2B, Alex Whitaker was 2-2 with a BB and Landon Mitchell had a 2B and 3 RBI in the win. William Croyle was 2-3 for Millbrook.

#1 Hanover 10, Warhill 0
The Hawks cruised into the semifinals as Chase Hustead (Coastal Carolina) fired 4 innings of 1-hit ball with 5 strikeouts. Seth Keller (Old Dominion) and Cannon Peebles (NC State) homered and Anthony Gabello (James Madison) went 3-3 with a 2B. 


Class 3
#6 Liberty Christian 10, #14 Christiansburg 7

A back and forth game early saw the Blue Demons take a 6-5 lead in the fourth before LCA was able to score in each of their final 3 at-bats to pull away. Tanner Thomas (Longwood) was 3-4 with 2 2Bs and 2 RBI, Lane Duff was 3-4 with a 2B, 3B, and an RBI for the Bulldogs. Dawson Gragg was 3-4 with a BB for Christiansburg.

Meridian 9, New Kent 5
New Kent led 4-2 in the fifth before Meridian exploded for 7 runs over the next two innings. Jackson Pierce went 6 innings for Meridian and allowed just 3 hits while also going 3-3 with 2 RBI and a BB at the plate. Jack Flanagan was also 3-4 and Alex Lacroix had 2 2Bs and 4 RBI. Brayden Heath was 3-4 with an RBI for New Kent.

#8 Abingdon 6, #24 Spotswood 3
Ethan Gibson (Virginia Tech) went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and no walks as Abingdon opened up a 6-1 lead by the fifth. Gibson also had a 3B and an RBI at the plate while Elijah Parks was 2-2 with a BB. Trevor Shifflett was 2-3 for Spotswood.

#25 Appomattox County 4, Gate City 3
Collin Slagle delivered a go-ahead single in the fifth as the Raiders re-took the lead, ultimately hanging on to win. Alex Caruso tossed 2.1 innings of 1-hit relief to close it out with 4 strikeouts while also going 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI at the plate. Trey Schrock had a 3B and a BB. Brendan Cassidy was 2-3 for the Blue Devils.

Stuarts Draft 5, Poquoson 3
The Cougars tied the game in the sixth and scored two to win it in the seventh, with RBI singles from Colton Harris and Cedrych Miller in that last inning rally. Harris and Dawson Jones combined to hold the Islanders to 2 hits while Harris finished the game 2-4 and Trent Coffey was 2-4 with a 2B. 

John Battle 5, Alleghany 4
The Trojans scored two in the bottom of the seventh and tied the game with 2 outs on a Elijah Childress RBI single to send the game to extra innings. The game went into the eleventh before Battle walked it off with a Porter Gobble RBI single. Evan Hankins (Tennessee) threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit relief with 8 strikeouts to pick up the win. Nolan Sailor was also 3-5 in the win. 

Buckingham 6, Randolph-Henry 1
Justin Gunter threw the first 5 innings, allowing just 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Rocco Raynor and Jake Carter were each 2-3 with a 2B and an RBI for the Knights. Ben Gibbs was 2-3 with a BB for the Statesmen.


Class 1
Grayson County 3, Lebanon 1

Andrew Shaffner (NC State) was dominant on the mound, striking out 14 in 6.1 innings of 2-hit shutout ball for the win. Elijah Osborn was 1-2 with an RBI and a BB for Grayson. Seth Buchanan and Nathan Phillips were pretty good on the mound for the Pioneers, holding Grayson County to just 3 hits as well.

Rappahannock 2, Buffalo Gap 1
Slade Keyser threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball and Wyatt Bunch tossed 2 perfect innings of relief to close it out. Zay Rich was 1-2 with a BB and an RBI. Blake Argenbright homered in the loss and 3 Gap pitchers combined to allow just 3 hits.

Auburn 6, Chilhowie 3
Jared Lavergne went 6.2 innings and allowed just 7 hits in the win. Kenny Wade and Brady Hale were each 2-4 with an RBI for the Eagles. Zac Hall was 2-3 for the Warriors.

Rappahannock County 6, Lancaster 3
