VA/DC Team Of The Week: Week 5

In 2023, our staff would like to take a look at a Virginia/DC high school team that had a big week and earned the honor of Team Of The Week.
This week the award goes to the Greenbrier Christian Gators. GCA went to Hanahan Invitational Tournament in Charleston, SC and went 4-0. The Gators turned out forty-six runs and six homeruns during the course of their four game tournament. Delaware commit, Payton Shipman, won the tournament MVP.
During their semifinal game, the Gators went down seven runs in the top of the first, but ran up a staggering fourteen runs in the bottom of the first and went on to win 23-13 over Bishop O'Connell.
