POWER 25 WEEK EIGHT REVIEW 

No. 1 Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks)

Notre Dame had no games this past week but will kick off a busy tournament schedule on Tuesday. Their record holds steady at 16-2.

No. 2 Santa Margarita

Santa Margarita didn’t play any games this week. They have tournament play kicking off Tuesday with a match vs. No. 5 Corona. Their record sits at 14-3.

No. 3 Valley Christian (San Jose)

Valley Christian took a loss to No. 12 South Hills and Bishop Amat this past week, besides the two one-run losses, they had two shutouts on the week winning 10-0 and 9-0. Their record sits at 13-3 as they face three teams this week including No. 18 Bellarmine.

No. 4 Villa Park

Villa Park took three losses this week in four games, dropping 4-3 to Bishop Amat, Vista Murrieta, and Servite. Their record is 13-6 with tournament play this week.

No. 5 Corona

Corona had a clean sweep against league opponents, boosting their record to 14-3. They have a tournament this week starting with a game against No. 2 Santa Margarita on Tuesday.

No. 6 Whitney

Whitney went 3-1 on the week, only dropping a game to No. 13 Archbishop Mitty 11-4. Their record is 13-2 going into this week and they will play three league games.

No. 7 De La Salle

De La Salle lost two games by the same score in a Monday doubleheader to formerly ranked St. Francis (Mountain View). In their game on Saturday, they won bringing their record to 10-3. They have four games this week including one against No. 23 Elk Grove on Saturday.

No. 8 Franklin (Elk Grove)

Franklin dropped two out of four this week including a loss to No. 18 Bellarmine 9-3. Their record is 14-4 as they face off against No. 23 Elk Grove this week in a three-game series with a non-league game on Saturday.

No. 9 Aquinas

Aquinas started the week with a shutout and in their two games on Friday and Saturday they won bringing their record to 12-2. They enter tournament play and start on Tuesday with a matchup vs. No. 24 Cypress. 

No. 10 Etiwanda

Etiwanda split the first two games of their league series and in the finale on Friday, they won 6-1. On Saturday they also won bringing their record to 11-3. They start a tournament on Tuesday facing off against No. 15 JSerra.

No. 11 Bonita

In tournament play this past week Bonita won two and lost two bringing their record to 11-4. League play resumes this week with two games as well as a non-league game on Saturday.

No. 12 South Hills

South Hills went 3-1 on the week with their only loss being a 10-inning thriller against Servite. They pulled off a 4-3 upset win against No. 3 Valley Christian. They have a 14-5 as they resume league play with two games this week.

No. 13 Archbishop Mitty

Archbishop Mitty split their four games this past week in tournament play. Their record sits at 13-4 with two games this week.

No. 14 Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach won both of their games this week, bringing their record to 14-6. They have tournament play this week starting off against No. 25 La Mirada.

No. 15 JSerra

JSerra had no games this past week but they will face off against No. 10 Etiwanda on Tuesday to start tournament play.

No. 16 Gahr

Gahr won three out of three this week in tournament play. Their record sits at 14-2-1 with four games this week.

No. 17 Orange Lutheran

Orange Lutheran didn’t have a game this past week, they start a tournament this week with a record of 10-7-1.

No. 18 Bellarmine

Bellarmine won three out of four this past week, beating No. 8 Franklin by a score of 9-3. They were shut out by No. 20 Cardinal Newman on Thursday bringing their record to 11-4-1. They face off vs. Valley Christian in one of two games this week.

No. 19 Harvard Westlake

Harvard Westlake won three out of three this week bringing their record to 12-7. They face formerly ranked Sierra Canyon in a three-game series this week.

No. 20 Cardinal Newman

Cardinal Newman remains perfect at 14-0 winning four games this week. They have three games this week.

No. 21 La Costa Canyon

In tournament play this week, La Costa Canyon went 4-0 bringing their season record to 12-1. They have three league games this week.

No. 22 Hollister

Hollister split their two games this week, earning their first loss of the year and bringing their record to 12-1. They only have one game on Monday this week.

No. 23 Elk Grove

Elk Grove lost three of four games this week bringing their record to 13-4. They have a massive week ahead as they start with a three-game series vs. No. 8 Franklin and a Saturday match-up vs. No. 7 De La Salle.

No. 24 Cypress

Cypress swept their tournament with four wins bringing their record to 16-4. They continue tournament play this week with a game against No. 9 Aquinas.

No. 25 La Mirada

In league play this past week, La Mirada went 3-0 bringing their record to 12-4. They kick off a packed tournament schedule this week.
