March 30/31 Weekend Roundup

#2 Lake Central 16 Morton 1 - Taylor Lehnert was the winner in game 1 striking out 9 in four innings.

#2 Lake Central 6 Morton 0 - Antonio Majstorov and Ryan Pachowicz combined on the mound to face the minimum in 7. Majstorov earned the win going five. Nick Kellams had four hits on the day, three going for extra bases. 

#5 Carroll 8 Floyd Central 6

#9 Homestead 3 Noblesville 0 - Jake Weber went six innings, giving up two hits for the win. Junior Josh Thompson closed in the 7th.  Andre Jernigan, Josh Caccamo, Brandon Soat and Austin Plasterer all had one hit apiece in the win.

#9 Homestead 11 Moeller (OH) 4 – Homestead knocked off PBR Ohio’s #1 team to win the Miller Classic.

#14 Crown Point 10 Elkhart Memorial 0

Crawfordsville 5 Guerin Catholic 2 – Chandler Pursell went six innings allowing two runs on three hits and striking out four. Mitchel Reeves had two hits and a RBI.

Brebeuf 12 Crawfordsville 11 – Nic Meyers and Chase Shaw led the offense for Brebeuf. Meyers was 2-3 with a homerun and four RBI. Shaw was 3-4 with a homerun, two RBI, and two runs scored. Alex Ehrlich had three hits and scored three times for Crawfordsville.

Greenwood 10 Hillsboro (TN) 0 – Tyler Beck picked up the win going four innings allowing just one hit and striking out four. Landon Fink was 3-4 in the game with two RBI and three runs. Connor Beidelman was 2-4 with a homerun and three RBI.

Fishers 10 Clarksville (TN) 3 – Blake Baumgartner took a no hitter into the 5th inning before giving up a hit.  He allowed three earned runs on three hits, while striking out four in 5 1/3 innings.  Offensively, Drew Clark connected on four hits including three doubles.  Baumgartner also helped his cause with a double, single, and three RBI.  Jon Simonett also added two hits including an RBI double.

Fishers 6 Wilson Central (TN) 1 - Justin Rhodes threw a complete game against host Wilson Central for his first victory of the season.  Rhodes scattered nine hits, while keeping Wilson Central off balance all night.  Offensively, the Tigers were led by Baumgartner's two doubles and two RBI. Garret Schlotter had two singles, two runs, and stolen base.

Fishers 13 Germantown (TN) 8 - Griffin Hulecki picked up his 2nd win of the season after throwing the first 4 innings scattering 4 hits and allowing 1 earned run while striking out 3. Jon Simonett picked up a 3 inning save in relief. Offensively, the Tigers were led by Blake Baumgartner (4-4, D, RBI, R, SB), Drew Clark (2-5, 2T, 3RBI, 2R), and Jon Simoneet (2-2, RBI, 2R, SAC).

Fishers 13 Smyrna (TN) 10 - Drew Clark led the Tigers finishing 3-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs. Clark also struck out the side in the 7th to end the game. Blake Baumgartner continued to swing a hot back contributing 2 hits including a homerun and 4RBIs. Derek Ely pitched well in relief and added 2 singles and an RBI. Colin Scher picked up his first win of the season on the mound.

Edgewood 1 Hamilton Southeastern 0 – Raventos picked up the win going all seven innings scattering seven hits and striking out two. Ridge had a triple and scored the only run of the game off an RBI from Driver.

Mishawaka 8 FW Northside 3 – Jordan Gard picked up the win throwing  six innings. Tyler Carroll had two hits for Fort Wayne.  Danny Eggleston and Dillon Papa had two hits apiece for Mishawaka. 

Mishawaka 7 FW Northside 4 – CJ Swartz picked up the win going all seven innings to improve to 2-0 on the season. Tyler Carroll and Kyle Barnett had two hits apiece for Fort Wayne North.  Dillon Papa, Cody Tungate, and Andrew White had two hits each for Mishawaka. 

Muncie Central 7 Wapahani 3 – Muncie Central got their second straight complete-game effort on the mound to open the season, this time from senior lefty Josh Mawhorr, who, in seven innings, give up three runs -- two earned -- while striking out nine Raider batters. Central juniors Blake Bullock and Nick Gollifer and sophomore Billy Walker each had three hits.

Hobart 10 River Forest 0 - Phil Madvek followed up his no-hitter from Tuesday with a one-hitter, with nine strikeouts   Madvek was also one of four Brickies with multiple hits as he went 2-3 with two RBI.  Sophomore Brandon Murray was 3-3 with 2 runs, 2 RBI, and a double.  Tyrus Joseforsky was 2-3 with 1 run, 1 RBI, a double and a triple.  Junior Anthony Burgos was 2-3 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Hobart 10 River Forest 0 - Lefty C.J. Komosa went 4 innings to earn his first career varsity win, allowing 2 hits and striking out three. Joseforsky was 2-3 with 3 runs, a double, a walk, and 2 stolen bases. Senior Jake Ehrlich was 3-4 with 2 runs, 3 RBI, a double, and 2 stolen bases.  Sophomore Nick Bokun was 1-3, 2 runs, 2 RBI, and a triple.  Phil Madvek was 2-3 with 2 runs, 1 RBI, a double, and a walk.

Greenfield-Central 7 Delta 3 – Clark Pence had a big day offensively going 3-3 with two homeruns and six RBI. Brandon Neal was 2-4 in the game with a homerun. Curtiss Irving picked up the victory going 4.1 innings. Austin Conway homered for Delta.

Greenfield-Central 14 Delta 7 – Hayden Kissee and Brandon Neal both homered for GC. Neal also doubled and scored three times. Cam Gruell and Curtiss Irving both had two hits, Gruell also drove in two runs.

Columbus East 7 Brown County 1 – Brian Wichman went 3-3 in the game with a double, RBI, and two runs scored. Yates Burkhart was 2-3 with a RBI. Dakota Glenn throw three innings allowing no hits and striking out four to pick up the win.

Columbus East 12 Brown County 1 – Brian Wichman and Christian Wichman both had two hits and three RBI in game two. Kellen Otto threw all five innings allow just two hits and striking out nine to get the win.  

FW Northrop 8 Heritage 0 – Tyler Huth picked up a complete game shutout striking out 14 and allowing just one hit, he also drove in a run. Colin Brockhouse was 2-2 with a triple and two runs scored.

Cloverdale 4 Lanesville 2 – Austin Mannan, Ethan Atwood, and Cody Carter all had three hits in the game. Brian Dale picked up the win going six innings without allowing a run and striking out seven.

Cloverdale 11 Lanesville 4 – Austin Mannan had a big game two going 3-4 with a homerun, three RBI, and two runs scored. Jordan Brinkman picked up two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run.

North Central (Farmersburg) 10 North Daviess 1 – NC put up nine runs in the first inning. Connor Strain had two hits and two RBI. Collin Harding also drove in two runs. Daniel Loveall threw six innings allowing just five hits and striking out seven to pick up the win.

North Central (Farmersburg) 10 North Daviess 6 – Zach Lyday was 3-4 with three RBI in game two. Connor Strain drove in two runs and scored twice.

Sullivan 10 North Knox 1 – Tucker Smith and Luke McPhail both had two hits and two RBI in the game.

Northview 6 North Vermillion 0 – TJ Decker picked up the win going 4.1 innings allowing just one hit and striking out seven. He also had two hits in the games, with three stolen bases and three runs scored. Tanner Glenn was 2-2 with two doubles and a RBI.

Northview 27 Western Boone 0 – Zach Hull was 2-3 in the game with a double, triple, and four RBI. Connor Pierce was 2-3 with two triples, three RBI, and five runs scored. Northview had six players with multiple hits in the game.

New Castle 14 Batesville 6 – Connor King had a big day at the plate for New Castle going 3-5 with a double, five RBI, and two runs scored. Adam Kranda had two hits and drove in two runs for New Castle. Trey Ball was 2-2 with a triple, RBI, and three runs scored.

New Castle 10 Batesville 0 – Connor King and Adam Kranda both picked up two more hits and a RBI in game two. Austin Cook and Zak Kellogg both had two hits and a RBI for New Castle.

Southport 15 Southridge 11 – Casey Domek finished the game 4-5 with two doubles, a RBI, and four runs scored. Tyler Wampler was 3-6 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Noblesville 2 De La Salle (IL) 0 – Taran Murphy picked up the win going all seven inning allowing just three hits and striking out six. Luke Porter went 2-2 with a RBI and run.

Seymour 7 Clarksville 0 - Zack Brown threw six Innings and had 14 k's with only one walk and gave up one hit.
Seymour 7 North Harrison 5 - Owls scored five in the first and two in the third and hold on to win the tournament.
