Weekend Roundup - March 29-30

#2 Crown Point 10 Elkhart Memorial 2
– Zach Plesac threw five hitlees innings allowing two walks and striking out 10 to get the win. Andrew Nickla led the offense going 3-4 with a double, triple, three RBI, and two runs scored. Bobby Morgan drove in two runs and Johnny Lynk hit a solo homerun. Ron Plesac and Jake Jatis each drove in a run. 

#3 Jeffersonville 10 #14 Carroll 0 – Mark Meyer got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just two hits and striking out seven

#20 Bloomington South 7 #4 Zionsville 1 - Nolan Rogers went 3-4 with a double and three runs. He also got the win on the mound throwing three innings and striking out six. AJ Hartman was 2-2 with a RBI and two runs. Jack Drew threw four scoreless innings. Drew and Rogers held Zionsville to just three hits.

Crawfordsville 5 #8 New Castle 1 

#12 Andrean 6 Hebron 0 – Matt Desomer and Jimmy Skiff combined to throw a no hitter. Desomer threw five innings giving up two walks and striking out 11. Desomar and Zac Ryan each drove in a run. 

Floyd Central 3 #14 Carroll 0 – Kyle Sipes got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just four hits to get the Highlanders the third win of the year.

#20 Bloomington South 8 Beford North Lawrence 3 - Nolan Rogers was 3-3 with a RBI, three runs, and four SB. Gage Rogers was 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Isaac Barrow got the win throwing two innings and striking out three,

#21 Norwell 11 Michigan City 4 – Luke Hunter picked up the first win of the year throwing a complete game. Tailur Szarenski led the offense going 3-4 with four RBI. Josh VanMeter also had a big day going 3-5 with three RBI. 

#21 Norwell 7 Charlestown 5 F/9 – Josh VanMater came through in the bottom of the ninth hitting a two run homerun. He finished 3-6 with three RBI and also got the win on the mound. Jake Meyer went 2-2 for Norwell.

Columbus East 5 #21 Norwell 4 
– Trailing 4-2 in the top of the 7th Cam Curry hit a three run homerun to give Columbus East the win. Peyton Gray and Brian Wichman both drove in a run. Nick Satterfield got the win and Jordan Johnson got his second save of the day. 

#22 Penn 7 Niles (MI) 2 – Cameron Glaze threw five innings to get the first win of the year for Penn. Steven Smallwood and Chad Whitmer each had two hits, including a triple. Cole Deneen tripled and drove in two runs. Andrew Herman and Cole Harlacher each doubled. 

#22 Penn 5 Northridge 3 – Penn got on the board early striking for two in the first. Chad Whitmer threw six innings, striking out seven to get his first win of the year. Dalton Teitsma came on in the seventh to get the save. Cole Harlacher and Steven Smallwood both had two hits and drove in two runs, Smallwood tripled. 

#23 Evansville North10 Gibson Southern 0 – Ryan Dills got the win going five innings allowing just two hits and striking out nine, he also hit a two run homerun. Cory Weatherholt led the offense going 4-4 with a two run homerun. 

#23 Evansville North 18 Vincennes Lincoln 4 – Curran Davis got his first win of the year helping Evansville North improve to 2-0, he also homered in the game. Ryan Dills had a big game at the plate with a double, triple, and homerun with drive in six runs. Max Mooney and Devin Williams both homered as well. 

#23 Evansville North 5 Vincennes Lincoln 0 – Devin Williams picked up the win throwing five inning allowing just two hits and striking out five. 

#24 Seymour 10 Clarksville 0

Portage 8 Morristown (TN) 6 - Kevin Jones got the win on the mound allowing just two runs. 

Coffee County (TN) 5 Fishers 3 – Ben Abney led the offense going 2-3 with three RBI. Derrick Ely was 2-4 with a run scored, Griffin Hulecki was 2-2 and Garrett Schlotter scored twice. 

Fishers 4 Shelbyville (TN) 2 – Nathaniel Rhodes picked up the win going 4.2 innings allowing three hits, two runs, and striking out eight. Derrick Ely threw the last 2.1 innings allowing just one hit. Griffin Hulecki drove in two runs, Cole Dalton was 2-4 with a run, and Cory Reed was 2-3 with a run. 

Farragut (TN) 6 Fishers 0 – Griffin Hulecki got the loss against one of the top teams in Tennessee (won 7 of last ten state titles). He went four innings allowing four hits, one earned run, and striking out five while be held to a 75 pitch count. 

Fishers 10 Gallatin (TN) 0 – Brandon Yoho threw a five inning no hitting striking out seven to get Fishers the win. Yoho only allowed three base runners, all on hit by pitches. Taylor Canter led the offense hitting a two run homerun. Garrett Schlotter scored twice and drove in two.  Fishers had nine players with a hit and score a run. 

Columbus East 5 DeKalb 2 – Peyton Gray picked up the win throwing six shutout innings allowing just one hit and striking out 11. Sam Claycamp and Yates Burkhart both drove in two runs. Christian Wichman went 2-4 with a solo homerun, Brian Wichman went 2-2 with a double and a run, and Cody Edwards was 2-3 with a run. 

Columbus East 3 Silver Creek 1 – Brian Wichman picked up the win throwing four innings allowing just one run on two hits while striking out seven. Jordan Johnson got the save striking out one in his inning of work. Columbus East picked up the win while getting just one hit, a solo homerun from Peyton Gray. 

Hamilton Southeastern 11 Edgewood 1 – HSE scored eight runs in the fourth inning to break open the game. Goetz picked up the win throwing two hitless innings striking out four. Steven Curry went 2-2 with a RBI and a run. Tre Gantt went double and scored three times. Mitch Roman and DeWael each drove in two runs. 

Noblesville 3 Richmond 0 – Zach St. Pierre picked up the win throwing six innings allowing just three hits while striking out 10. Luke Porter led the offense going 2-3 with a solo homerun. Brian McLean and Garret Christman both drove in a run and TJ Lindstrand scored twice. 

Noblesville 7 Hanover Central 0 – Trevor Salmon got the win throwing five shutout innings allowing three hits and striking out eight. TJ Lindstrand led the offense going 3-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and three runs. Garrett Christman, Trevor Salmon, and Brian McLean each had two hits and scored a run, McLean also drove in a run. 

Chatard 8 Scecina Memorial 5 – Andrew Pluckebaum picked up the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing just two hits and striking out six. Mike Schapker led the offense going 2-3 with a triple and three RBI. Joe Godlevske was 2-3, Tommy Barrett drove in two and scored twice, and Patrick Stimpson doubled and drove in a run. 

Merrillville 5 Boone Grove 2 – Jon Feliciano got the win allowing just one earned run and striking out nine in six innings of work. Anthony Griffin got the save striking three. Feliciano also went 3-4 at the plate with a RBI. Ta’Shawn Grubbs was 2-3 with a double and a RBI and Joey Crowser was 2-3 with a run. 

Morgan Township 10 Wheeler 2 – Doughony picked up the win throwing five innings allowing two hits, one run, and striking out nine. Porter and Anderson led the offense each getting three hits and driving in two runs. Koselke went 2-4 with a double and a homerun. Swisher and Kizior each had two hits. 

North Miami 5 Wheeler 0 – Barker picked up the complete game shutout allowing just four hits and striking out eight. Briggs doubled and drove in two runs and Ferrand was 2-4 to lead the North Miami offense. 

Heritage Hills 3 Northeast Dubois 1 – Tyler Ward got the win throwing five hitless innings striking out seven. Ward was also drove in a run and scored a run. Dugan Kippenbrock scored once and Derrick Kippenbrock drove in a run. 

Barr-Reeve 9 Clay City 0 – Brandon Wagler threw a no hitter striking out 11 and walking two to get the win. He was also 2-3 at the plate with a double and two runs scored. Heath Graber and Logan James each had two hits, one a double, drove in two runs, and scored twice. 

Barr-Reeve 11 Crothersville 1 – Addison Wagler led the offense going 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Adam Graber was 2-3 with two RBI, Brandon Wagler doubled and drove in two runs, and Lucas Graber drove in two runs. 

Northview 4 North Vermillion 1 – Damon Bass got the win throwing four innings allowing four hits, no runs, and striking out seven. Conner Peirce drove in two runs and Craig Peters drove in one run. Conner Ganly, Kyle Moore, and Bo Stewart all doubled in the game. 

Cloverdale 6 Lanesville 0 – Justin Wilson got the win throwing four hitless innings while striking out four. Wilson and Kade Schroer both went 2-3 in the game. Austin Mannan, Cody Carter, and Brayden White each drove in a run. 

Cloverdale 5 Lanesville 4 – Tyler Carter struck out 12 in 4.1 innings, but left the game with a no decision allowing three runs and two hits. Cody Carter got the win in 2.2 innings striking out six. Carter was also 2-3 at the plate with a double and RBI. Kade Schroer was 3-4 with a run scored. 

Wapahani 5 Muncie Central 1 – Austin White picked up the win going six innings allowing one run on five hits while striking out four. Casey Jones drove in two runs and scored once and Hayden Woodard double and scored twice. White and Collin Hoots each drove in a run. 

Plainfield 14 Brebeuf 5 – Plainfield had a big third inning scoring nine runs en route to a win. Michael Gulley and Matt Spaulding each had three hits and drove in two runs, Spaulding doubled and homered. Tyler Garzinski and Alec Caprarella each had three hits and drove in a run. Hunter Smith had two hits and drove in two runs. 

Hanover Central 10 Homestead 6 – Daniel Balich picked up the win throwing five innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out five. Evan Garthus led the offense going 3-5 with a double and two RBI. Dan Stum, Nick Myskowski, and Aaron Furman each drove in two runs. 

Northview 27 Western Boone 3 – Northview had eight players with multi-hit games. Craig Peters led the way going 4-4 with a double, triple, four RBI, and three runs scored. Connor Pierce was 3-3 with a double, triple, three RBI, and three runs. Bo Stewart was 3-4 with three double, two RBI and three runs and Nate Newton was 3-5 with two RBI and three runs. 

Griffith 14 Morton 1 – Austin Brown led the offense going 2-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Matt Colomes went 2-2 with a double and two runs scored. 

Washington Township 3 Highland 0 – Tyler Frye got the complete game shutout allowing just three hits, no walks, and striking out nine. Tyler Byerly was 2-3 with a double. 

Terre Haute North 6 Ben Davis 4 – North scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead. Tristan Pate got the win on the mound throwing two innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Gabe Sevigny went 2-3 with two runs scored. 

Terre Haute North 18 Ben Davis 8 – Sam Wolf and TJ Collett led the offense for North. Wolf was 3-6 with a homerun, six RBI, and three runs scored. Collett went 2-3 with a double, homerun, five RBI, and four runs scored. Zach Milam and Jon Eilbracht each had two hits, Milam scored three times and Eilbracht scored four times. 

Floyd Central 13 Louisville Southern 2 – Cody Sunderhaus got the win on the mound throwing four innings allowing five hits and striking out eight. Derek Despain was 2-4 with a homerun and four RBI. 

Floyd Central 5 South Dearborn 2 – Kyle Beach got the win improving Floyd Central to 2-0 on the season.
