Green?s T.J McCloud No-hits DIV?s Seventh-ranked St. Joseph Central
High school baseball games played on Sunday?s are a rarity. Having a no-hitter send one?s team into a District title game is equally rare. In southern Ohio these two feats collided.
Franklin Furnace Green advanced to the Rio Grande District Final, by defeating Ironton St. Joseph Central 6-0 behind a no-hitter from right-hander T.J. McCloud on Sunday at Chillicothe?s VA Memorial Stadium. McCloud struck out seven while walking six in the victory over St. Joseph Central who entered the game 13-4 and was ranked seventh in the final Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Division IV poll.
Green advanced to face Racine Southern for in the District Championship which will be held at VA Memorial Stadium Friday at 5 p.m.
