No. 6 Jasper at No. 5 Bloomington South

Bloomington, IN - The runs came early and late for both teams in the matchup in Bloomington. Jasper got started right away with the first two runners reaching and then Junior Dane Giesler drive a ball over the center field fence. South would get one of the runs back on a bases loaded single to left by Senior Matt Acton, but Giesler came up big again throwing out Joe Forney at the plate to end the inning. South would tie the game up in the second off of a two-run homerun by sophomore centerfielder Nolan Rogers. South took a 6-3 lead after scoring three more runs in the bottom of the 3rd.
 
Neither team managed to score runs in the next two innings. South?s starting pitcher John Waldon settled in after the Giesler three-run shot to retire 15 of the next 16 Jasper batters. Waldon ran into trouble in the top of the 6th after getting the first batter out, he walked the next two and would be replaced by Freshman Gage Rogers. Jasper was able to get to Rogers with back to back doubles by Seniors Tory Hall and Sam Rumbach to tie the game at six.
 
South would answer Jasper?s comeback with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. After loading the bases with no outs Senior Kevin Swango doubled to drive in two runs. Jasper would then surrender two more runs on wild pitches. Rogers would get Jasper to go down 1-2-3 in the top to pick up the win for South.
