No. 4 Nazareth Academy (11-1), behind junior LHP Ryan Marske?s (3-0) two-hit shutout, defeated Gordon Tech 10-0 in five innings. Lewis University-bound 3B Anthony Baldassano led the Roadrunnner attack with a homer and four RBI. Kane Lombardo and Michael Barajas chipped in with two hits each.

No. 6 Mundelein (11-0) smashed Evanston 12 -2 behind Mustang seniors John DeVito and Luis Carrasco. DeVito was 4-for-4 with a double, homer and plated four Mustang runs. Carrasco chipped in with three hits. Mustang junior LHP Ryan Borucki improved to 3-0 with the complete-game performance.

No. 7 St. Rita (10-1) defeated Stagg 11-0 in five innings behind Purdue recruit junior RHP Eddie De La Riva. The future Boilermaker improved to 5-0 on the mound with a three-hit shutout. Junior sophomore Zach Soria drove in three runs for the Mustangs and senior T.J Verdun also plated three Mustang runs.

No. 8 O?Fallon (12-1) slowed down Normal West 5-2 in Normal on Saturday. Austin Peay-bound LHP Matt Meadows improved to 4-0 on the mound allowing a run and two hits in his 4 ? innings of work. Meadows has a minuscule 0.95 ERA for 2011. Panther University of Pennsylvania-bound Austin Bossart and  senior Justin Busekrus led the Panther attack with two hits each, Bossart?s single drove in a Panther run.

No. 9 St. Laurence (8-2) hammered Lockport 10-2 in Lockport on Saturday. Junior LHP Nick Altobella improved to 3-0 on the mound for the Vikings. Viking sophomore SS Kevin Smith hit a two-run homer and Purdue University-bound RF Kyle Wood launched a solo shot.

In West Suburban Silver action, Hinsdale Central (4-7; 2-0) stunned York 5-2 and 6-1. In game one, Red Devil Chris Bobo fanned a dozen and fired a five-hitter at York (8-2; 3-2). In game two, sophomore RHP Adam Dressler, ranked third in the Class of 2013, scattered seven hits and fired a complete-game for a Red Devil sweep.

No. 19 Lyons Township (9-1; 5-0) swept Proviso West 14-2 and 14-0 in five-inning affairs. Penn recruit Connor Cuff picked up the win on the mound in the opener. Mike Pett had a triple and three  RBI and junior Steve Heilenbach homered and drove in two. Lion SS Spencer Mahoney chipped in with an RBI triple.

In game two, Heilenbach and Jack Peth combined to no-hit the Panthers. The Lions received RBI triples in game two from Dan Zehe, Brian Rodemoyer and Pat Dillon. Mahoney, Tom Walsh and sophomore Keith Lehman all had RBI doubles. With the York double-loss to Hinsdale Central, LT sits all alone atop the West Suburban Silver standings.

No. 10 Downers Grove South (5-5; 1-1) continued to struggle, splitting a West Suburban Gold twin-bill with Willowbrook (7-2; 4-1) in Villa Park. In game one Kansas State-bound Matt Wivinis fired a three-hit shutout for DGS, to improve to 3-0. Junior Nick Vanek and senior John Lithio hit homered as  DGS rolled 8-0. In game two Willowbrook?s Matt Tiberi fired a four-hit shutout at the Mustangs to help the Warriors gain the split with a thrilling 2-0 victory.

In west Suburban Gold action Leyden (7-0; 4-0) stayed undefeated with an 11-1 win over Addison Trail. Lewis University-bound Justin Stawychny hammered two home runs and drove in five Eagle runs.

No. 13 Stevenson (6-1) fell to defending Class 4A champs Naperville Central 3-2 in Naperville on Saturday. Naperville Central (5-4) scored the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh on a single by junior 2B Ross Murphy scoring senior Mike Riordan who had doubled. Redhawk senior Jake DeVoy (1-0) picked up the win in relief of sophomore Jimmy Nashert who had a solid 5 ? innings performance.

No. 14 Simeon (9-1) continued to impress with a 5-3 win over Hersey in Arlington Heights on Saturday. Wolverine freshman LHP Darius Day improved to 3-0 on the mound with another complete-game gem. Day was two-for-two at the plate with two RBI.Wolverine Sharoid Roach chipped in with a two-run double.

In the Fox Valley-Valley Division Cary Grove (7-3; 4-0 Valley) swept Jacobs 8-7 and 9-5. In game one the Trojans scored five times in the bottom of the seventh. Trojan senior Kevin Weber doubled with the bases loaded off of Jacob?s University of Oregon recruit junior RHP Henry Gigeous, who suffered the loss. In game two, CG?s Ohio State-bound Matt Panek drove in four runs to lead the Trojans to the sweep. Senior 1B Alex Posey went deep for the Trojans.

In a Fox Valley crossover, Huntley (7-1; 3-0 Valley) swept Johnsburg 8-1 and 12-0. In game one Red Raider junior RHP Ryan Doherty (2-0) fired a two-hitter. Red Raider Brody Burkhart continued his hot-hitting with three hits and two RBI. In game two, Craig Klein (2-0) fired a four-hitter and sophomore Colin Lyman was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Burkhart continued his hot-hitting with three more RBI.

In Interstate 8 Crossover action, Coal City (4-4; 1-0 North) stopped Reed Custer 12-7 behind senior Brandon Tidaback and sophomore Austin McLuckie. Tidaback drove home a pair of Coaler runs and scored four times at the plate. Tidaback fired two scoreles innings of relief to pick up the save. Tidaback fanned four. McLuckie had three hits, including a two-run homer and drove in four Coaler runs.

In Upstate 8 Crossover action, No. 16 Streamwood (9-0; 3-0 River) slipped past Bartlett 5-4 as junior LHP Dalton Lundeen improved to 3-0 for the Sabres.

Marmion (8-3) hammered Naperville North 10-4 behind senior LHP Tim Tater (3-0) and junior A. J. Friedman. Tater struck out six in his solid six-inning performance to pick up the win. With his bat, Tater had two hits and a pair of RBI. Friedman plated five Cadet runs with a two-run triple among his three hits. On Moday, Marinon will head down to Palos Heights to face Chicago Christian (11-3) in a key Suburban Christian Blue battle. Drake Skleba of the PBR will be on hand for all of the action.

Chicago Christian (11-3) blanked Eisenhower 10-0 behind Knight junior Michael Kamp and senior Joe Glotz who each drove home three runs for the Knights.

Lincoln-Way East (8-3) outslugged Oak Forest 10-8. Griffin Matt Rosenberger went deep with two on and drove home four to lead L-W East. Oak Forest?s Kansas State- bound LF Tim Barry hit his first two homers of the season for the Bengals. Barry now needs 7 more homers to break the state home run record.

Andrew (8-4) clubbed Bremen 13-3 in six innings as the T-Bolts went deep three times against Bremen (10-4). Senior Brian Cobb, junior Brian Kane and sophomore Dan Durkin went deep with a man on for the T-Bolts. On Wednesday, the PBR?s Drake Skleba will be on hand for the T-Bolts Southwest Conference Red Division opener with L-W West (7-1).

New Trier (5-3) slipped past Bent 3-2 behind Amherst-bound LHP John Cook (2-1). Cook struck out seven in his complete-game performance.

Vernon Hills (7-2) was led by Cougar Brian Palmer who had a perfect 3-for-3 day with an RBI as VH slipped past Fenton 5-4.

Prospect (8-1) swept Grant 11-2 and 8-5 behind a 5-for-6 day, with a homer, for Knight senior Luke Bergman and a 6-for-8 day by junior 3B/P Jack Landwehr. Landwehr (2-1) picked up the win in game two with three shutout innings of relief with seven Ks. Senior Peter Bonahoom doubled and homered for the Knights in game two. Knight senior Ben Menich improved to 2-0 with a 14 strikeout one-hitter in game one.

In western Big Six action Galesburg (11-2; 2-0) swept United Township 10-0 and 3-2 to open up WB6 Play in style. Junior C Chad Johnson hammered a two-run walk-off homer to make a winner of RHP Nick Milligan and lead the Streaks to the game two win. Milligan fanned 11 in his complete-game gem.

In  the six-inning opener Tyler Farrell fanned 13 in his six-inning shutout. The Streaks pounded out four homers in the game one win. Zach McCreary went deep twice and Milligan and Brock Bush homered once for the red-hot Streaks.

Mississippi Valley Conference powers Troy-Triad and Waterloo improved to 11-0 on Saturday. Troy-Triad outslugged Granite City 11-10 behind sophomore Cody Massey and senior Rich Dimock. Massey plated three Knight runs and Dimock drove home two. Junior Blake Thomas chipped in with three hits and junior Ty Lewis (2-0) picked up the win on the mound. The Knights pounded Granite City 15-5 in game one of their twin-bill. Thomas homered and drove in four and Dimrock drove in three. Junior Andrew Range improved to 3-0 with the win on the mound.

Lewis concluded a 10-for-15 week with two doubles, a homer and 10 RBI. On the mound the talented junior was 1-0 with 2 ? scoreless innings in his two appearances allowing one hit and striking out three. The three strikeouts came in his 1/23 innings of scoreless relief against then-No. 2 Chatham Glenwood.

Waterloo (11-0) blasted Columbia 12-0 on Saturday.

Pleasant Plains (9-1) defeated Effingham St. Anthony 7-5 behind solo homers from seniors Jace Vaniger and Max McElfresh. Sophomore Steve Rush added a solo shot,t oo.

No. 20 Illinois Valley Central (8-3) split a twin-bill with Putnam County (10-4). The Grey Ghosts took the opener 6-1 but lost the nightcap 5-4. In the Ghosts game one win senior 2B Dan Semtner hammered a three-run homer and senior SS Trever Black had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate.

Wheaton Academy (6-3) blanked Chicago Brooks 10-0 on Saturday. The Warriors hammered three home runs in the first three innings of the game and picked up an easy nonconference victory. Junior Matt Brandys hammered a three-run shot in the first to get the Warriors attack going. It was the second dinger of the year for Brandys. Senior Alec Lochridge hit a two-run blast in the second and sophomore John McKenna hit a solo shot in the third for the Warriors. Junior Trevor Swaney chipped in with an RBI single and junior Derrick Enger picked up the win on the mound with three scoreless innings and four strikeouts.
