ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - With a handful of pro scouts on hand to see Hersey (4-2) ace Joe Perricone, the Huskies prevailed 12-6 over Loyola in a nonconference game. The normally dominant right-hander didn?t have his best outing, but that didn?t prevent the Huskies from piling up runs.

Perricone allowed six runs, four earned, in three innings work. The athletic 6-foot-2, 185-pound Perricone yielded only one hit, but was hurt by walks, hit batsmen and overall control. The Coastal Carolina recruit?s fastball sat at 87-88 mph and topped at 89. Perricone flashed impressive stuff at times, but was hurt by his inconsistency to control his fastball.

Jack Richmond, a 6-foot-4 junior left-hander, got the start for Loyola and threw well early on with a fastball that topped at 78 mph with arm side run. Hersey?s offense was led junior SS Tyler Perkowitz, Dalton Farel, Erik Stoltzner, and Perricone ? all of whom drove in runs.

Pat Nix relieved Perricone and Aaron DeGeorge followed for Hersey. DeGeorge located his 78-79 mph fastball well and got the win.
