The ‘Hotlist’ is a series that provides weekly insight into the high school baseball scene spanning the country, curated by Prep Baseball’s state directors who are situated nationwide, with vital intel on the prospects who are in their own backyards. Each week, we’ll publish our ‘Hotlist’ on varying topics that are timeliest to the national baseball calendar at that point in time.

This week’s topic: Which prospects will break out soon (or already have) at the nationwide Preseason All-State events taking place over the winter?

♨️ The ‘Hotlist’ (1/17):

Louisiana

(Future Games; 7/26/23)

+ Kaul Perkins , UTL, Oak Forest Academy HS (2025), Uncommitted:
“A former Future Gamer, Perkins is an athletic right-handed hitting prospect that offers defensive versatility as well. The Oak Forest Academy product packs a punch in his 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame, as he’s a 6.75 runner in the 60 and he's also up to 90 mph from both the infield and the outfield. He also possesses quick hands at the plate with present bat speed that results in exit velocities up to 96 mph. Perkins is a terrific athlete that should have a lot of buzz heading into the spring high school season.”
