1/10/19 - Arizona signee. Cope struggled to find the zone consistently with this fastball that touched 91 and worked 88-89. He was moving the pitch from black-to-black with varying degrees of effectiveness. His curveball looked sharp and flashed some downward biting action and his command of the pitch was on point with the exception of one delivery. Cope appears thicker and stronger on his 6-foot-11 frame. His mechanics look more consistent as his release point is coming from the same slot repeatedly. He's seen an uptick in velocity since last spring which should continue with more physical development.

5/2/18 – USD commit, 6-foot-11, 205-pound, 2-sport, towering right hander turned in a excellent 5.0 inn, 3 hit, 3 walk, 6 strikeout performance getting the ND. Tonight, Cope featured an 85-90 FB, topping out at 91. He primarily used the FB only and mixed in a handful of CB's at 73-75. Cope exhibited the ability to pitch inside to LHH with his running glove side FB. High ceiling for this recruit.

4/3/18 - 4/6/18 - Long and lean. Worked 86-90 with the fastball and was able to control it for strikes. Athletically repeated longer arm swing. Breaking ball was loopy slider at 73-75 but he threw it for strikes and it played well with his size. More gradual, 10/4 shape. Loose near ¾ slot.
