Class of 2019 Rankings - UPDATED

The 2019 season has started off with a bang and as we've grown our coverage throughout the state, we've grown our rankings to reflect that now with 200 players ranked in the 2019 Class in California. The MLB scouting industry is fully focused on the 2019 draft and with the warm(er) weather in California, area scouts, cross-checkers, scouting directors and even some front office personnel have already begun blanketing the state early in the year getting a look at the top high school players.
PBR California launched in January 2018 and since then we've been out, in person, seeing this group of seniors grow and falter across national level events, tournaments, PBR events and with their High School teams. Talented players in the state of California can improve significantly year-to-year and there is a strong group of Uncommitted players in these rankings who have the talent to go out and help a club at the next level. We knew expanding the rankings would add opportunities for these players to get more eyes to come to them and with 23 Uncommitted Seniors, college coaches will want to be sure they've updated their follow list.
By this time, most seniors have been scouted quite extensively. Those highly touted players have seen more scrutiny and have maintained their status near the top of their grad class. Others have steadily climbed as they've worked, developed and just as importantly, have had the opportunities to compete in game competition against their peers. As players rise in rankings others get pushed down. Such is the nature of rankings.
Today we reveal an updated and expanded California Top 200. Given the size of the state and the volume of players we cover, it's a fun challenge to create such a sizable ranking. Notable in our top five is the presence of players from Southern California, Northern California and also the Central Coast. California is well-known for prep pitchers and the overall 200 leans towards pitching, so it would stand to reason that the No. 1 position continues to belong to a pitcher.
With the Draft approaching quickly, will this Top 5 hold? Or will someone put an exclamation mark on their season and go flying up the rankings? We shall see!
