Tall and projectable at 6-foot-6, 230 pounds, Peterson is one of the top high school southpaws in the country. Playing for one of Colorado’s top teams, Peterson was a priority target to see at the National High School Invitational in March. However, Peterson suffered a broken leg before the season started and was sidelined until April. He returned to the mound, closing games as he worked his way back to full strength. By the end of the season, he was able to pitch a full game and held his velocity, even reaching back to find a tick more in pressure situations. He sat at 88-89 mph with his fastball, but could get 90-91 when he needed it. He has good control from a three-quarter arm slot and has shown a sharp breaking ball in the high 70s in the past. His changeup sits 79-81. He is committed to Oregon.
