2/19/24
After a quality weekend at GDC, Gibbs continued to find impact at the plate, picking up three more hits on Monday. The barrel control for the Georgia commit is among the best in the 2025 class. Electric had speed and barrel whip paired advanced ability to stay balanced at the plate consistently stands out for Gibbs, especially from a load that utilizes many moving parts. The shortstop has an all-fields approach but the pull-side power for Gibbs is significant from the lean 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame. Have rarely seen Gibbs look overmatched at the plate in any situation, and could have one of the best hit tools in the 2025 class when it’s said and done.
2/17/24

One of the top middle infielders in the class was as good as advertised throughout the weekend at GDC. Impressive twitch throughout the 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame, Gibbs showcases impressive hands at the plate with speed and strength that really stand out while finding real impact in the barrel. Showed power to all-fields with extra-base knocks to both the backside and pull-side with exit velocities north of 95 MPH. Clean actions at SS with quality footwork and great flexibility, backed with present arm strength. The Georgia commit is off to a hot start to his junior campaign.

3/18/23

5-foot-11 165-pounds. Georgia commit. Gibbs had a multiple hit night with a couple big hits to drive in early key runs for the Dawgs. The defensive ability is impressive for his age. He can range to his right and make the tough plays with a strong arm. At the plate the swing plays bigger than the plater. He does not get cheated, but is still disciplined enough to take his singles with consistent barrel control. He grinded out a couple 2 strike at bats and turned them into hits. He does not get affected by 2 strikes, he keeps his composure and trusts his swing no matter the count. Gibbs will continue to add strength, and will surely be one of the top SS’s in the state for the next couple of years.

2/21/23

UGA Commit. 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Easily one of the best pure hitters in his class, few make more consistent hard contact than Gibbs. It was great to see an extended look on him at SS and get to see him run some hard 90’s last weekend, only making us more convicted on his future tools. We had multiple A/AVG run times, and he’s far from the ceiling on his athleticism and physicality. He’s in an elite group of hitting aptitude in the southeast, and soon to be the nation. This weekend he showed the arm to easily stick at SS, and one of the most advanced in the class. He will continue to smooth out the glove and exchange but is instinctive and gets to everything with ease.
