Georgia Class of 2025 Rankings: Fall Update

As the fall winds down and players prep for the upcoming Spring, we expanded the 2025 GA Rankings to 255 prospects. As the build-up for the high school season is in full swing, we highlight the top 10 with more to follow this week with risers and top uncommitted prospects.

As always, the evaluation process is a fluid and ongoing process with multiple viewings in order to get the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace. That doesn’t indicate that other players got worse or went backwards, it’s just how player development works. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the PBR rankings universe. In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Georgia and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and then make adjustments based on what we've each seen.

The Top 10
1.Ty Peeples, Outfielder
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 180-pounds
High School: Franklin County
Commitment: Georgia
- It was a calendar year of consistency and stand-out performances for Ty Peeples that culminated in one of the best overall showings at the Prep Baseball All-American Game this fall in Milwaukee and into his premier standing among the top outfielders in the country. Armed with an aesthetically pleasing left-handed swing, the Georgia commit exudes exceptional plate coverage and feel for the zone that is quickly moving an already quality hit tool towards a potential plus tool. Power is backed by a heavy barrel that plays way up in-game with consistent loft and ability to drive both velocity and spin alike. With plenty of polish at the plate, and even more to tap into, Peeples continues to stand out among his peers. With gaining 150 spots nationally in the last 18 months, and now the top player in the state, Ty Peeples is quickly becoming the household name on everyone’s radar.
2.Cannon Goldin, Outfielder
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 180-pounds
High School: Buford
Commitment: Ole Miss
- Competitor. There are numerous skills and attributes that athletes can improve and develop, but the spirit of a true competitor is extremely hard to come by. This is one of Cannon’s strongest attributes, other than being a freak athlete with one of the strongest hit tools in the nation. These athletes all possess natural ability, but small attributes like competitiveness and work ethnic begin to separate them as they become upperclassmen. Goldin thrives in the spotlight, and was a member of the inaugural Prep Baseball All American game in September, but was not able to compete due to an injury. He is back healthy and looks stronger than before. We will be eager to see him at the Preseason All-State event January 14th, but it appears Goldin plans to defend his player of the year title as a sophomore at Buford High School.
3.Eli Pitts, Outfield
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 185-pounds.
High School: Parkview
Commitment: South Carolina
- The athleticism from Pitts is what continues to impress the most. The speed and instincts on the field has always been a strong part of his game. Now, with added strength and power at the plate the game goes to a totally new level. There are not many holes in his game, and he has the ability to make adjustments to pitching, so he rarely gets beat.
4.Daniel Pierce, Shortstop
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 165-pounds
High School: Mill Creek
Commitment: Georgia
- With loads of present athleticism and highest-level projectability remaining at a premium position, Daniel Pierce gives you as much to dream on as anyone in the Peach State. Loose hands and wrists at the plate with advanced barrel control to stay on-plane and do damage throughout the zone. The glove at the 6 might be the carrying tool in Pierce’ profile with soft hands and an innate ability to slow the game down. Arm plays with accuracy from multiple angles and backed by above-average strength.
5.Terrance Bowen, Shortstop
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 185-pounds
High School: Alexander
Commitment: Oklahoma State
- It was not long ago that Bowen was on one of the strongest 14u Junior Future Games teams in Georgia’s 5 year existence at Future Games. The athleticism stood out from a young age. He had the tools in the field, a naturally strong arm with the ability to make the tough plays. He was consistent at the plate, and handled nearly any pitcher thrown at him. This past summer he found his power, and exploded on the summer circuit and made his appearance at the 2023 Future Games and nearly snagged MVP honors. Against some of the toughest arms in the country he hit triple digit exit velocities and his recruitment seemingly took off. He is currently trying to defend his state championship title on the basketball court, but when spring rolls around he will look to lead a talented Alexander squad into the GHSA playoffs.
6. Eston Simpson, Right-Handed Pitcher
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 195-pounds
High School: Jefferson
Commitment: Clemson
- There might not be a player in Georgia’s 2025 class with a bigger arrow up than Eston Simpson. In February of 2023 we saw Eston face off against North Hall. At the time the frame was 6-foot-4 and wiry. The smooth, effortless delivery was still in action and the fastball was operating in the mid 80’s. Fast forward to June and he comes out to top prospect games and turns the heads of every scout in attendance with a fuller frame and fastball up to 90. A month later he puts on a show on the biggest stage of the summer and earns MV-Pitcher honors and commits to Clemson shortly after.
7. Jackson Taylor, Shortstop
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 182-pounds
High School: Walton
Commitment: Clemson
- The Georgia Dugout Club tournament is essentially the kick off for Georgia baseball in mid February. The temps are cold, but some of Georgia’s top talent is on display at LakePoint Sports. Walton is known for their high profile players, so we were there to get an early look at top 2024’s Levi Clark and Dane Moehler. Taylor caught the eye at shortstop and pieced together some solid at bats at the bottom of the line up. Anyone could tell he recently grew and was still figuring out the frame. As the season went on we saw him creep his way towards the top of the line up, helping Walton earn a playoff bid. Skip to June and Taylor has filled out the intriguing frame, runs a sub 7.0 60-yard dash and has the loudest round of BP amongst some of the top 2025 players in the state. He earned a spot at the Future Games shortly after and turned heads on Team Select amongst 300+ scouts. The spring of 2024 is fast approaching and will surely be a breakout high school season after a breakout summer.
8. Josh Gibbs, Shortstop
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 170-pounds
High School: Forsyth Central
Commitment: Georgia
- Boasting a rhythmic right-handed swing with premium bat speed and exceptional hands through the zone, Josh Gibbs flashed both bat-to-ball skills and sneaky pop that stood out on the national circuit throughout the Summer and Fall. Gibbs' ability to maximize the above-average raw power out of a 6-0, 170-pound frame cannot be overlooked with consistent damage in-game. Present twitch up the middle defensively with an explosive first step laterally and plus arm strength that allows the Georgia commit to make every throw with ease. In a 2025 class chock full of advanced middle-infielders, Gibbs has a chance to keep pushing into the best of the bunch with this current trajectory.
9. Dominic Stephenson, Catcher
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 190-pounds
High School: Harrison
Commitment: Georgia Tech
- Yet another 2023 Prep Baseball All-American in the Top 10, Dominic Stephenson and his well-rounded profile continue to hold down the position as the top catcher in the state. The 2022 Future Games alum and Georgia Tech commit creates simple loft and will generate substantial pull-side pop when he taps into the lower half backed by present barrel control. Plus athlete at the position as a sub-6.7 runner with advanced strength throughout the frame, you can squint and see shades of Harry Ford in the overall profile. A huge spring season could be on tap for Stephenson as he tries to position himself among the top catchers in the country.
10. Jackson Peavy, Left-Handed Pitcher
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 180-pounds
High School: Peach County
Commitment: Georgia
- Starting with a 6 up, 6 down performance at the 2023 Future Games, Jackson Peavy was on a fast track to the Top 10 throughout the rest of 2023. Advanced feel for the zone and ability to repeat from a traditional three-quarters slot give Peavy a solid ball of clay to start, but now stuff is really beginning to shine. Comfortable 90-92 with ability to create a tough, downhill angle that will get on top of hitters quickly and even more to come velo wise. Curveball has the makings of a potential above-average with consistent shape and depth. Changeup can be a deadly third-pitch at 77-79 while maintaining arm speed and creating devastating arm-side fade. There’s becoming little to no question that Peavy has a significant ceiling that we may just be seeing the first layers of.
