Offensively, loose, quick swing, consistently on time and gap-to-gap approach. In a Saturday afternoon game, doubled off the top of the left-field wall and also lined a single into right-center field. 6-foot-1, 185-pound, strong, athletically-built, right-handed hitting catcher. Tall, balanced and athletic set-up, minimal load, short leg lift timing trigger. Short bat path, fast bat speed, gets extension, line drive production, fluid rhythm throughout. Repeatedly found barrels, sprayed to all fields, 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively, pop times ranged 2.00-2.13. Short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate throws with carry, quick release, topped 76 mph from the crouch. Soft hands behind the plate, advanced receiver, plays through the ball, agile blocks. 4.87 run time, home-to-first. 

Currently ranked No. 136 in the Illinois’ 2020 class. Started behind the plate and hit in the three-hole for Cary-Grove. Finished the day 0-for-2 with two walks. Lined out sharply to the shortstop and flew out to right field. Loose, strong hands, bat stays through the zone and has natural lift in swing. Defensively, handled Priester, who was 90-95 mph, with relative ease. Soft hands, flexible hips, quiet receiver. Clean out of the crouch, short, over-the-top arm action, true ball. 6-foot-1, 180-pound, strong, well-proportioned, right-handed hitting catcher. At the plate, balanced, quiet setup, smooth load and incorporates lower half. Fluid, simple swing, highly-repeatable and efficient bat path. Loose athletic hands, line-drive approach and consistent hard contact. 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, flexible, loose hips, presents a low target, soft hands. Exchange is clean and works on-line. Short, loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Throws topped at 76 mph from the crouch and pop times ranged between 2.03-2.18. Ran a 4.77 home-to-first.

1.28.18 - 5-foot-11, 150-pound catcher. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, slightly dives to contact, average balance. Compact swing with middle of the field approach, showed ability to repeat and find the barrel. 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is shot and loose from an over the top slot. 73 mph out of the crouch. Pop times ranged 2.15-2.19. Ran a 4.75 down the line.

1.29.17  - 5-foot-8, 130-pound catcher. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, minimal load, static pre-pitch, long stride, linear lower half. Path is level, some length and extension. 72 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm plays short, high ¾ slot, 64 mph out of the crouch. Ability to block, exchange is clean, hands worked. Pop times are 2.26-2.58. 5.16 runner down the line.
