O’Brien is a physical 6-foot-3, 195 pound right-handed hitting outfield prospect. He hits out of a balanced, athletic stance. The load is controlled by a leg lift and allows him to get stacked over the back leg. The swing is quick and direct through the hitting zone and utilized his long limb to create leverage. He showed gap to gap juice during the batting practice with a max exit velocity of 95.8 MPH. He also ran a 7.43 sixty.
Defensively, O’Brien was 84 MPH on his throws from the outfield. His approach was controlled and allowed him to get into a good throwing position. He uses a long arm swing to create carry on his throws and finishes in line with the target.
