Maryland Preseason All-State Session II
Body: 5’10’’, 155 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame with twitch and above-average feel for his body in all phases of the game.
Hit: RHH. Upright, loose setup from a slightly open stance. Some wiggle present in the hands at the shoulder, as he initiates the swing with a lift and replace stride while showing sink into the legs. Entered the hitting zone through a mostly flat path with ability to manipulate the barrel based on pitch quadrant. Hit behind the ball well with good balance in the lower half; held his posture and got off controlled, violent swings. Peppered the middle of the field in the air and the pull-side hard on a line during his BP round. A 58% fly ball rate displays some loft in the approach, but a 25% line drive rate and developing 51% on-plane efficiency point towards the ability to hit for some average down the line.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment and gets his whole body into the swing.
Arm: RH. OF - 89 mph. Athletic arm circle with good extension on the front side. Carry present towards the target with accuracy as well.
Defense: Can handle any of the three outfield positions, smooth mover with good posture and a quick first step. Really went and got the ball in either direction with a soft glove hand playing confidently off his left side. Mainly possesses CF attributes where he will most likely end up in the long run; standout athlete overall.
Run: 6.65 60-yard time.
Maryland Western Trials
Body: 5’10’’, 140 pounds. Athletic frame with room to fill out.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a tall, open stance at the plate. Long stride straight from stance and creates good hand separation. Stays short to the ball with head down through contact. Uphill swing path with extension and a long one-handed finish. Stays behind the ball well with quick bat speed and strong lower half involvement. Consistent loud contact and really nice middle of the field line drive approach with pop.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Power to alleys present with more projected.
Arm: RH. OF - 83 mph. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball with tempo and fields the ball on his glove hand side. Clean exchanges and quick crow-hop.
Run: 6.67 60-yard time.
Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 5’10’’, 140 pounds. Athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, upright, open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with hands pre-set and some separation. Quick hands through the zone with solid extension past contact. Strong lower half involvement with a strong middle of the field approach. Worked mostly pull side during BP, consistently peppering the left center field gap.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Some pull side pop with more projected.
Arm: RH. OF - 79 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a high three-quarter arm slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well, fielding it to the side with momentum towards the plate. Consistent clean exchanges with strong throws that showed some carry.
Run: 6.92 60-yard time.
Preseason All-State Session II
Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5’9”, 135 pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, square stance at the plate with hands pre-set. Quick load and short stride. Short to the ball with a level swing path. Shows very quick hands and bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement. Gets excellent extension through contact and finishes swing hard with two-hands. Squared up a ton of balls during BP working mostly middle to the pull side.
Power: 75 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ball jumps off the bat. Gap power present with more projected.
Arm: RH. OF - 81 mph. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball in the outfield and fields it out in front on the glove hand side. Showed quick, clean exchanges and quick, fundamental footwork with a small crow-hop.
Run: 4.39 home-to-first time.
MD MoCo Fall Review
Athletic body type and 5’8’’, 125 pound frame. Hits from a slightly open stance at the plate with a wide base and weight pre-loaded on backside. Hands start pre-set in a loaded position and takes a small, quick leg kick to stride. Attacks the baseball with intent and really stays behind the ball well. Showed a quick bat through the zone and an uphill swing path. Explosive lower half involvement and good extension past contact with a strong one-handed finish. Does a nice job of maintaining balance throughout the swing. Gap-to-gap line drive approach with some pop to the pull-side. Recorded a 71 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork and uses a crow-hop to gather during exchange. Throws with long arm action from a lower three-quarters slot at 73 mph. Ran a 6.87 60-yard time.
