Maryland Preseason All-State Session I
Body: 5’11’’, 168 pounds. Compact, athletic frame with some feel for his body.
Hit: RHH. Loose, slightly-open, and narrow setup as the hands started low with the barrel pointing straight up and down next to the head. Good stretch upon foot strike with a deep lift and replace stride outward towards the pitcher; utilized a flat barrel path to generate a middle of the field, line drive approach during batting practice (43% line drive rate). Genuine feel for the top hand with present bat to ball skills at the plate.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Developing doubles power with ability to get on the baseball when contacting out in front of the plate.
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph. Short, high three-quarter slot with a mostly quick release; worked with some restriction on the takeaway and could change arm angles on the run.
Defense: Solid round of defensive evaluations with moderate range to the glove hand side, knew when to attack high hops, sticking the foot in the ground early on the reads. Soft glove hand funneled into the belt loop allowing for average pace across the diamond.
Run: 7.28 60-yard time.
Maryland Western Trials
Body: 5’11’’, 155 pounds. Athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a loose, crouched, slightly open stance at the plate. Short, controlled back load and stride. Short to the ball with a slightly uphill swing path and showed quick hands and bat speed through the zone. Stays on the ball really well with head down on contact and strong lower half involvement. Gets extension and finishes swing with one hand. Worked mostly middle to the pull side with pop.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Power to the pull side present with more projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a mid three-quarter slot. Can throw from multiple other slots depending on the type of play.
Defense: Works through the ball with feet constantly moving. Fields the ball out in front with soft hands and funnels to chest. Showed lateral range and athleticism.
Run: 7.26 60-yard time.
Preseason All-State Session II
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5’11”, 150 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a relaxed, slightly crouched, open stance at the plate. Quick load and average stride length. Creates nice hand separation. Short to the ball with a level swing path. Showed quick hands and bats speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement. Gets good extension past contact and finishes the swing with one hand. Nice middle of the field, gap-to-gap line drive approach during BP squaring up several balls.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Gap-to-gap pop present with much more projected as he continues to fill out.
Arm: RH. INF - 73 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a mid three-quarters slot.
Defense: Works through the ball fielding it out in front from an athletic base and funnels to the chest. Rangy with a clean exchange and ability to throw from carious arm slots depending on the type of play.
Run: 4.59 home-to-first time.
