Harper has physical, broad-shouldered build at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Starts on the mound with his feet on the first base side of the rubber with his feet angled towards the third base line. Long arm action. Has a 3/4 arm slot, but drops down occasionally on offspeed pitches. Engages his backside early. Even shoulder tilt down the mound. Fastball sat 77-79 MPH and topped at 81 MPH. Curveball showed sweeping action across the zone and occasionally backs up at 70-72 MPH.

Harper has a lanky, athletic build. Fastball topped at 77 mph, sat mostly 75-77. Flashed a breaking ball at 64-65 with some 11/5 depth and a changeup at 67-69 mph with fade. 3/4 slot with a short, quick arm action. Slow, methodical delivery into a tall/athletic balance point. Drives down the mound using lower half. Lands closed - throws across his body slightly. Tall, athletic finish.
