New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound (up 10 pounds from 8/2015) Sobaszek plays 2B/3B and runs a 7.09 60. Offensively- Upright, open stance from the left side. Hands at ear level, drop down to shoulder level and then back for good load separation. Toe touch with good stride, weight transfers nicely to front leg. Improvement on hip torque through the zone can improve the current 82 MPH exit velocity (up 4 MPH from 8/2015). Defensively- smooth feet, keeps head down and glove out in front at all times. Solid glove traveling in any direction, throws 78 MPH (up 5 MPH from 8/2015) across the diamond. Pitching- Starts on middle of the rubber, slight drop step to the side of the rubber, belly button high leg kick, throws across body a little bit and falls off to the first base side after throwing. ¾ to high arm slot, bent plant leg, uses back side well. FB sat 75-78 MPH, CB at 68 MPH.
May 2016
Strong arm across the infield with plenty of range; capable of starting on outfield grass; but able to make plays in front of him; moves well in both directions with a sure glove. At the plate, makes consistent contact with a fluid stroke; gap to gap power.
WNY All-Star Games (August 27, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.43 Home to 1st from the left-hand side. Defensively- He has a good approach through the ball, with good hands, throws with a low 3/4 arm action, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 73 MPH.  Pitching- On the mound, he uses a simple side step, balanced delivery, arm action is fairly clean and loose, throws with an over the top arm slot.  In the game, he seems to have good composure and uses his pitches well. Hitting-  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short leg kick stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact, swinging with a little uphill tilt but straight to the ball, with a nice high extension through the ball finishing above shoulder height.  His exit velocity was 78 MPH.
