Physical: 6-foot-0, 185 pounds; Sturdy, muscular build. 7.66 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a moderate swing path with a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 95 MPH via Trackman. Showed some pull side pop. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while sitting back. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 72 MPH. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using an angled drop step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Moderate arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 74 MPH, while sitting 71 - 74 MPH; straight action. CB: 59 - 62 MPH; spots and expands.
6/29/22
Physical: 6-foot-0, 185 pounds; Long, full build. 7.6 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Lifts hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a short swing path with a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while showing choppy feet. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 68 MPH. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using an angled drop step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing some scap load; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 74 MPH, while sitting 72-74 MPH; straight action. CB: 60-62 MPH; early action.
2/22/22
Physical: 6-foot-0, 185 pounds; Sturdy build. 7.79 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a finish around the back. More ground balls than line drives and fly balls with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. pull side pop. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; static during pre-pitch while showing active feet. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle while using various arm slots. INF - 66 MPH. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 74 MPH, while sitting 71-74 MPH; heavy, straight action. SL: MPH; slurve like. CH: 62-65 MPH.
6/30/21
Physical: Developing 5-foot-11, 180lb frame with strength found. 8.04 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance as a stiff left leg featured a slightly inward facing foot. Utilized a leg lift to initiate a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone with lots of rhythm in the swing. Notched a T89 mph bat-exit velocity coupled with a dead pull-side approach, flashing some doubles juice on occasion when lifting (330 foot batted ball distance via Trackman). A 40% line drive rate allowed for the swing to work flush towards impact, back-spinning at times. Strong rotational qualities, getting the hands extended out in front.
Defensively: The middle infielder operated with adequate range in either direction, using a moderate posture in the approach while fielding off the middle/left side of his body. Funneled cleanly to the chest line, releasing from a H ¾ slot to the target (66 mph arm, second base projection).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the left side of the rubber using adequate tempo to get to a medium, hip-coiled stack position; drove in-line with moderate intent down the slope releasing from a H ¾ slot. The FB ranged from 70-72 mph showing heavy action into the zone. Mixed a short, lateral SL at 58-60 mph holding gradual HM across the plate.
