Cade Combs: C/3B, (2022) Harrison, OH. 6-foot, 165-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. (66.38 mph bat speed average). (21.37 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Has above average bat speed, level swing plane and level finish. Found multiple barrels through his rounds. Line drive approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 79 mph; has consistent feet, soft hands, and a natural fluid exchange. Uses his glove out front. While catching, throw downs to second were maxed at 77 mph; shows a developing exchange, consistent hands, and average feet. he had a pop time of 2.01-2.06. Some flexibility and calm setup. Showed a compact arm action with consistent accuracy to the base.
Cade Combs: C/3B, (2022) Harrison, OH. 6-foot, 160-pound lean frame. During batting practice, Combs had a max exit velocity of 86 mph. Began in an athletic tall stance with a controlled load, then used a toe tap. Has quick bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 83 mph; had sure hands, a natural exchange, and consistent footwork. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 77 mph; had consistent footwork, a natural exchange, and sure hands. Displayed next-level catching ability by boasting a 1.96-2.08 pop time. Clean setup with some flexibility. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Uses a leg kick to get lower half involved with a slight back load to hands. Balanced launch that accelerates into an aggressive stroke. All field abilities with ball flight from floor to ceiling.
Power:Strength and speed are comparable tools. Burst plays up due to natural whip he can generate. Gap pop.

Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Field:Behind the dish he has an athletic presence to him with flexible hips and above average quickness to feet. Smooth exchange that has room to speed up but is serviceable presently. Also worked out at third base where he had a solid showing as well. Ball skills are there and he covers some ground. Good athlete.
Throw:Clean arm with very accurate delivery. Solid catch/throw guy.
Defensive Projection:C/3B.

2/17/19 Position
Body Type: 5-foot-10 145-pound prospect with an athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance at the plate. Incorporates athletic, fluid movements to loading sequence that create both balance and separation at foot strike.
Hit: Nice, level stroke that enters the zone early and shows solid extension through contact. Stays inside the baseball nicely, giving him natural backspin to both gaps. Finds the barrel often and can use the entire field. Both strength and bat speed are on ahead of the curve for class and project for more down the road.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with gap abilities. Should see much more pop as strength arrives, considering the efficiency of swing.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Bat to ball skills are there. Young prospect, with future role inside a lineup to be determined as [physical maturation takes its course.
Field: 2.33-2.43 pop time. Behind the plate he looked mechanically sound with feel for the spots. Movements work well, creating consistent direction during transfer. Looks the part just will need to speed up actions as he matures. In the infield he has the ability to create angles with softness to hands through fielding. Not a flashy defender but sure-handed.
Throw: 68 mph from behind the plate and 72 mph across the diamond. Arm works well, showing looseness to it with developing strength. More mphs to come from both positions.
Run: 4.65 home to first.
Defensive Projection: C/INF. Right now he looks more projectable behind the dish.
Additional Comments: Talented young prospect to follow. Plays for Harrison’s JV team as a freshman.
