2/08/20

2/8/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Wright throws from a ¾ arm slot with a clean, athletic delivery. Should add velocity as he gains strength and matures.
Fastball: Fastball was 78-83 mph and showed some ‘ride’ through the zone with some cutting action at times.
Fastball Spin Rate:2360-2460
Curveball: Breaking ball was 67-69 mph and showed curveball shape with good depth on the pitch.
Curveball Spin Rate: 2350-2400
Changeup: Changeup was 73-74 mph and mostly true through the zone.
Pitchability: Above average feel for his three pitch mix. Fastball and breaking ball combo show the potential to create swings and misses. Should be a guy to keep an eye on if he can add some fastball velocity.

2/8/20 Position Player
Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Leg kick timing trigger with back load to hands. Would like to see more fluidity to load but when he's on time swing really works. All field abilities with above average natural tools.
Power: Gap pop.
Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 89
Top Rapsodo BP Distance:290
Field: In the infield he has quick feet, allowing him to play low but also cover a ton of ground. Not a flashy defender but very sure-handed.
Throw: Well above average arm.
Defensive Projection:  2B/3B.

7/10/19

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: A dynamic lower half paired with  a quick arm action.

Fastball: 74-77mph. Gears back and lets it loose on a pitch that has life to it. Slight arm side movement.

Curveball: 63-64mph. A sharp breaker on a 11/5 plane. Solid offering when thrown in the zone but tended to miss arm side.

Changeup: 68-69mph. Arm side movement that drifts off the plate.

Pitchability: In the zone some of the time.

Additional Notes:

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame.
Swing Mechanics: Athletic right-hander with efficient movements.
Hit: Whippy stroke with both strength and speed through the zone. Impressive combination of burst and feel for contact. All fields hitter that can backspin it.
Power: Gap abilities. 82.4 mph off the bat in BP.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Field:  Remains under control through fielding sequence. Ball skills are above average for his class.

Throw:  Throws from over the top with loose arm action.  Made accurate throws all day.

Defensive Projection:  Middle infield.

6/12/19

Body type:  5-foot-10, 145-pound thin and athletic frame.

Swing mechanics:  Small leg kick while keeping hands loose and loaded.  Everything syncs up well.

Hit:  Produces some above average bat speed with a downhill bat path.

Power:  Flashes pop to the pull side with more to come as he develops.

Offensive projection:  TBD.

Field: Good actions on the infield. Solid glove, funnels the ball.

Throw: Fairly quick transfer and release. Throws were accurate, arm strength is still developing.

Defensive Projection: 2B.

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 145-pound thin athletic build.

Mechanics/Delivery: Athletic and fluid delivery that requires some effort. Uses a long loose arm action working out of a ¾ slot.

Fastball: Fastball is mostly straight working on a downward plane at 73-75 mph.

Curveball: Can spin the breaking ball at 64-65 mph. The pitch shows some depth on an 11/5 tilt.

Changeup: Thrown with fastball like arm action, the changeup has slight sinking action at 69-70 mph.

Pitchability: Offers a solid three pitch mix. Good feel for both secondary offerings. Fastball was a little erratic at times.

2/2/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 145 pound athletic frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Delivers out of a ¾ arm slot with clean arm action. Has a quicker tempo and provides solid intent behind each throw.

Fastball: 75-81 mph. Ball jumped out of his hand while displaying arm-side run tailing late Sat 79-80 for majority of throws.

Curveball: 61-62 mph. Average breaker that showed signs of late break. Developing locating ability.

Changeup: 67-70 mph. Late arm side run, not much depth and was kept low in the zone.

Pitchability: Projectable athlete that has room to add which will help improve his already impressive fastball velocity as he gets stronger. Command on off-speed pitches will improve as he throws more.

Role: Starter

2/2/19
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 145 pound athletic frame.

Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Simple yet fluid loading sequence.

Hit: Compact stroke with downhill tendencies. Feel hitter that squares up the baseball regularly. Would like to see him add some loft to stroke but checks all the other boxes. Made hard contact throughout round in BP.

Power: 84 mph exit velocity. Line drive with gap abilities.

Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Run: 4.47 H-1st.

Field: Moves well in the infield. Feet are fluid/well timed. Ball skills look to be ahead of the curve as well.

Throw: 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Loose/clean arm that projects for more strength down the the road.

1/28/18

In the infield he looked smooth and under control. A functional athlete that showed above average ball skills. Moves well laterally, maintaining glove skills and rhythm on the move. A contact type bat with impressive barrel awareness. Will spray it to all fields and has more juice than frame would suggest. A bat to follow as he adds strength. On the mound the right-hander works with a slower pace as he rolls through windup into his big hip load. Arm is long and loose showing signs of more strength to come. Fastball stays mostly true through the zone, sitting 72-75 mph. Changeup is thrown with feel and located in the zone for the most part. The pitch came in anywhere from 66-70 mph. Puts good spin on his 11/5 shaped breaking ball that showed some late bite at 60-62 mph.
