Jacob Emery: 1B/C, (2023) Wayne, OH. 6-foot, 190-pound athletic projectable build. (73.8 mph bat speed average). (21.7 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small toe tap stride. Has an uphill swing plane, electric bat speed and high finish. Found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Aggressive approach. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 73 mph. Smooth while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 79 mph; shows a quick exchange, smooth feet, and next level hands. Movements laterally were average and he fields the ball out front. While catching, throw downs to second topped out at 73 mph; he produced a pop time of 2.08-2.12. Had a very quick arm action and a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Capable on the mound, using a short arm action he showed some arm speed from a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Has a straight fastball that shows some command and tailing action.
