Ty Blackburn: SS/RHP, (2023) St. Francis DeSales, OH. 5-foot-11, 175-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. (67.7 mph bat speed average). (19.1 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, had an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 73 mph; shows a natural exchange, sure hands, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.44.
Ty Blackburn: SS/2B, (2023) Home, OH. 5-foot-11, 160-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Blackburn had a max exit velocity of 81 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed was developing, displayed a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 66 mph; had a natural clean exchange, rhythmic footwork, and sure hands. Showed a high ¾ slot with a short arm action.
5-foot-10, 145-pound slim frame. Projectable in the box, Blackburn had an exit velocity of 80 mph. Started in a wide athletic stance with a quick load, then used a toe tap. Bat speed is quick, displays an upward uphill swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Projectable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 67 mph; had soft hands, a packing exchange, and consistent footwork. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Decent accuracy to the bases, used a short arm action and a low ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.39 at the event.
