A thick-framed and strong third baseman with room to add more muscle, Perkins shows some juice in his bat from the right side with a short and easy stroke. Good balance at the plate with a subtle leg kick load, Perkins is able to generate good bat speed through the zone and finish with a clean extension. Simple swing and some power should come as he continues to get stronger and more athletic. Uphill bat path which allows Perkins to get good lift on the ball. Good feel for position out in the field, must get more athletic, but shows understanding of proper footwork and while the arm lacks speed and strength, displays clean arm action. The 2020 classman still has plenty of time to get stronger, as his bat will keep him on the radar of coaches moving forward.
