Comments
Offensively, initiate swing from open with knee to knee movement and stride staying open. Weight shift is passive and separation is limited. Zhang drops hands to slot. Hands are quick and direct to baseball. Bat is on plane early and late spending considerable time zone. n 84 mph bat exit velocity was recorded.
Defensively, as OF, attacks and plays through ball on ground fielding off glove hand side. Solid weight shift and follow on throws is demonstrated.
On the mound working exclusively out of the stretch from over the top Zhang had some difficulty finding consistent release point on this day. High glove hand does create deception. FB sat 73-74 mph with little movement. CB had 12-6 shape being thrown at 65-66 mph demonstrating at best late break and moderate depth. CH at 70-71 mph was inconsistently commanded with reasonable sell and subtle arm side fade.
