10/08/17 Geis a 6-foot-1, 205-pound LHP/1B from Deer Lakes HS initiates swing from a neutral set up with a lift and replace stride. Weight shift is passive. However, an aggressive hip turn and direct back elbow connection is present. Head is still and there is leverage to swing with ability to stay behind baseball demonstrated. Swing possesses some length with an uphill path contributing to bat being quickly in and out of hitting zone. A bat exit velocity of 86 mph was recorded.

Defensively, as primary 1B showed tendency to field ball somewhat deep while demonstrating good hands and footwork around the bag.

On the mound, left-hander works out of high 3/4 arm slot with FB sitting 75-77 and showing little movement. CB at 72-73 mph had 11-7 shape and rolling action. CH thrown at 72-73 was pulled glove side. Mechanically, arm is loose. Geis strides slightly closed but opens front foot excessively a contact. He would benefit from staying in line with stride and landing neutral to slightly closed with stride foot.
