Physical: Solid blend of strength and athleticism in a well put together 6-foot, 183-pound frame that exudes physicality on the bump / Old Dominion commit.
Pitching: RHP - Works from the left side of the rubber with a side rocker step, above average pace in the delivery, deep coil at the top of the stack (shows number), solid leg drive towards the plate with direction, advanced hip shoulder separation on the release out of a high ¾ slot / full arm circle, gets over the front side while staying moderate with the posture throughout. FB ranged from 84-87 mph with electric hand speed at release, was up to 2422 rpms per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in a tight, two-planed 64-68 mph breaker that he manipulated the shape on creating tough at bats against in the box. Dropped in a quality 78-81 mph CH with arm-side fade and swing and miss ability on LHH.
Physical: Sturdy, athletic 6-foot, 183-pound frame with advanced physicality and an imposing mound presence on the bump. Old Dominion commit.
Pitching: RHP - Moderate pace on the bump with quickness from the top of the leg lift to leg drive towards the plate getting high intent on the release out of a power, high ¾ slot with quickness in the arm. The fastball worked with late life and high spin (2422 RPM max per Trackman Baseball) into the zone at 86-88 T89 mph. Countered with a sharp swing and miss curveball at 77-78 mph showing 11/5 shape and late downer action; accrued many strikeouts in game action, true out pitch. Commanded a 74-76 mph slider as well for a different looking breaking ball in the box displaying late horizontal bite. An 82-83 mph CH with arm-side fade was thrown at near fastball arm speed allowing for just enough deception to keep hitters off balance and give him a legitimate fourth pitch with moderate command of it.
Physical: At 6-foot, 183 pounds, he is lean and athletic with more room to add muscle.
Pitching: Starts on the first base side of the rubber and repeats his high-effort delivery. Starts with his glove covering his face and brings It down to his waist before bringing it back up along with a high leg kick that shows his backside to the batter. Gets downhill with a long stride towards the plate.
Fastball: Topping out at 89 mph, the ball explodes out of his hand. Plays well up in the zone.
Slider: Short but sharp breaking, thrown in the mid to high 70s, velo differential is enough to generate swings and misses.
Changeup: Thrown out of a similar window with deceptive arm speed, his changeup shows late, fading, arm side action.
6-foot, 160-pound two-way prospect. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Compact swing is dominated by his upper half actions. Registered an 83 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Showcased athletic defensive actions with straight line carry on throws of 83 mph to home plate. The primary outfielder also topped at 83 mph during his bullpen session.
Primary outfielder sat 82-83 from a 3/4 arm slot with arm-side run to his fastball. Davis struggled with command of his curveball at 68-73 and changeup at 62-67 on this date. Further work to shorten a substantial side-rocker step to begin his delivery and to stay directional will lead to more consistent command.
