Comments
2/23/13 6-foot-3, 235-pounds with a big bat. Ran a 4.53 home-to-first and threw 74 mph across the infield. Showed adequate defensive skills with some mobility around the bag. Offensively he put on a hitting display. The left-handed hitter hits out of a square stance and displayed good balance throughout his swing with an 87 mph bat exit velocity. Mulvihill showed good extension and power potential driving the baseball to all fields. From the mound he sat 76-78 which was down from 78-80 we saw him at in November. Mulvihill also commanded a 67 mph curveball and 69 mph changeup with arm side run out of high 3/4 arm slot. His changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed, with arm side run and downward movement.
11/11/12 Mulvihill is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound lefty who controls his frame extremely well. The big lefty has repeatable mechanics and throws out of a high ¾ arm slot. Mulvihill topped out at 80mph with good arm side run to his fastball. He displayed a 67mph curveball with tight rotation and good location. Mulvihill’s changeup is thrown at fastball arm speed, with arm side run and downward movement. With command of all three pitches, and the potential to add significant velocity, Mulvihill is a quality left-handed pitcher that should not remain uncommitted much longer.
