7/10/23

USA CNT: Smooth-fielding shortstop with soft hands, range in all directions and above-average arm strength from all throwing angles. He’s a long strider who ran below average down the line, but looked to be average underway. At the plate he struggled at the plate, going 1-for-16 during the trials. The righthanded hitter showed average bat speed with some length that will need to be shortened moving forward. As a true freshman for the Horned Frogs, Silva batted .330 with seven home runs, 11 doubles and 50 RBIs.

2/28/22

Silva has long been regarded as one of the best shortstops in the state and country. In our early season look against Brandeis, Silva didnt have any results in his three plate appearances but did show some added strength to the frame and think he should hit for a bit more power this year. Defensively, the TCU commit is as smooth as it gets. He was only given a few opportunities on the day but showed the ability to handle the short hop, play through a slow chopper as well as make a high level double play look fairly routine. Silva’s name will be one to follow along with come draft time this summer.

4/28/21

Landing in the No.2 spot is [Silva]. A Futures Games alumni, Silva has always had the ability to defend at a very high level. It is something that seems to come very natural to him. His hands and feet work really well around the ball on the routine play. He plays through the ball well when he needs to, and shows the ability to throw the ball on the run from multiple arm angles

7/31/19

Silva is the youngster on the Team Texas roster, but he showed out as one of the big guns to keep a very close eye on. A plus-plus defender, Silva showed quick reactions, speed into approach, exceptionally clean glovework, and put up 88 mph across the diamond. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has a very high ceiling at the plate, showed line drive power around the field from a simple set up on the right side and projects to develop more power. 91 mph exit velocity.
