Projectable, athletic 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame with strength in the lower half and wide shoulders. Phillips is a right-handed pitcher who worked only out of the stretch, delivers from a high ¾ arm slot, keeps rhythm in his hands by utilizing a pat in his glove before he breaks his hands, maintains balance and strength in his lower half throughout the delivery, and has an athletic finish. His fastball sat 82-84 with some late arm-side run, showed good feel for a curveball at 74 mph, his slider was 76-79 mph with tight spin and late depth, and his changeup was 78-79 mph.
