The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, slightly open stance, starts with a long, easy load to land soft on his front foot with a short stride and his hands back. Hand path works well from back to front as he has a loose finish of the barrel. Defensively, Holder has solid lower half mobility allows him to get into a good receiving position. His pop times ranged from 1.98-2.11 with generally accurate throws at 74 mph. Holder exchanges the ball quickly, allowing his arm to work out front, basic footwork with a limited amount of ground gained.
