Pompey makes the game look easier than most. The Texas Tech commit is one of the best defenders in the state, regardless of position. He makes every play at short look routine. In a day where making everything look good has become just as important as making the play, Pompey makes the routine look boring. He is fundamentally sound in his footwork, glove work, and has a better arm than most over there. At the plate, Pompey has made some positive strides throughout the season. He had two loud hits on Friday night, including a 3B to RC. Later he had a LD single back up the middle. There is less movement in the box, and he has flattened out his swing, giving his barrel more time in the zone. Pompey is trending in the right direction, as he gets ready to lead Coppell into the playoffs.
