Week One: March 4-10 IP 6.1 H 3 R 0 ER 0 BB 1 SO 12 The BYU commit and two-time Prep Baseball Future Games alum, committed as a SS, but the 3 sport athlete, who will be hanging up the pigskin next fall, to focus on the diamond headed into his senior year. Park has a variety of tools, and playing the MIF, or in the summer roaming the OF, the arm plays at any position, and the arm was on display last weekend on the mound, as Park threw 6.1 inns of shutout ball with 12 K outs vs the defending 5A state champion, the Timpanogos Timberwolves.
2/24/24
Although still a lean, skinny uber projectable frame and build, Park impacted the baseball with added strength compared to last summer, where his high 90’s EV’s, maxed out now at 100.8 at the Preseason All-State and remained easy in doing so. The bat path is direct and flatter with a slight uphill path, that is a natural on-plane path, that when he catches the bottom half of the baseball, the ball shoots to the right and LCF alleys with backspin carry. Not a lofted approach, but one that suggests hard line drive contact with the occasional pull HR power, but the path leans towards using his 6.7/60 speed to leg out 2B’s and 3B’s for his extra base hit power. The glove is still steady and lacks flash of most SS’s, and his hands are soft and quiet out front and makes easy transfers with low to mid 80’s velocity across the diamond. A natural type gazelle running gate, makes Park fun to watch run and the profile and my gut tell me he can be a quality 3B or slide over to the keystone and be a taller offensive 2B base type at the D1 level. The athleticism continues to impress and I really look forward to seeing what type of year 2024 holds for Austin!
6/04/23
A former PBR Future Games alum, is also headed back to Atlanta once again next month, Park is the #1 ranked player in the Utah class of 2025, and was the only ‘25 repping the #BeehiveState at the event. The leader of the Utah 3A State Champions, Park showed his highly projectable tools as he took his turn in the OF and at SS in showcasing his athletic twitchy movement patterns and EZ avg MLB arm strength. A clean throwing arm that also generates upper 80’s FB’s from the mound. After having his way with 3A competition in his first two years of HS, the sky’s the limit for Park moving forward. A fast bat that can already handle velocity at the plate, Park shows a clean stroke and the ball jumps off his bat with backspin and carries through the gaps. Pull HR power now, as he continues to add weight and matures with age, there should be all fields solid avg to plus raw power in his future. With two P5 standing offers from the Future Games a year ago, Park also has CWS teams on his trail as well.

2022 PBR Future Games
The #1 ranked ‘25 in the class and for good reason, the lean wiry athletic Park, has the makings of a really good player moving forward, as he took his turns through the workout, but kept things in check, as he is still preparing for the 3A State Football playoffs for the undefeated 10-0 Juab Wasps. A WR on the gridiron, and an uber projectable SS/CF on the diamond, Park is a 2022 PBR Future Games alum and already has some D1 offers on the table, but is in no hurry to make a decision, as he has 3 years at the HS level. Park had a great workout and the actions remained abv avg and looked very similar to that of his Future Games performances, however his data took some leaps forward over the last 3 months since LakePoint. He achieved his best tools marks of hand speed, 23.5, EV of 93.3, Avg EV 87.9, Max Distance 339, 7.01/60 on grass (soft track) vs. a 7.07 on turf in GA. He also fired off 83-84 mph easy accurate throws across the diamond from SS. Looking forward to seeing Austin next spring and the considerable gains and momentum he’s creating.
8/07/22
The top 2025 Position player in the state in this scouts opinion, regardless of others that may have committed and played for team USA. The upside of this kid is that of a HIGHLY athletic, lean long and twitchy 3 sport star with abv avg movement patterns. Park was first spotted at the Fall Prospect ID last November at Snow Canyon HS, and I’ve been squarely in this kids corner since. Was seen by every school in the state at the Top Prospect Games, July 12th at Pleasant Grove HS. Austin is skinny w/lean wiry strength and pound for pound strong, while oozing projection w/added weight/strength to come. The setup is semi wide w/a slight crouch and his bat held at a 45-degree angle. He shows hand and bat speed and the ability to sit back and recognize off speed mistakes and flashes HR power to the pull side now. Defensively he can play SS/CF and make each position look very natural. At SS he shows glove and athletic actions with soft hands and plays through the baseball. His arm is strong and accurate with 83 mph throws across the diamond and 85 from the OF. The arm is very loose and fluid and I can see upper 80’s across the INF and 90 from the OF over the next 2-3 years. Already has 2 D1 offers!
7/12/22
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Hits: RHH. Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 85.7 MPH. 325' max distance. Arm: RH. INF-78 mph .OF-85 mph. Defense: Run: 7.07 runner in the 60. Vizual Edge: 70.92 Edge Score
3/06/22
One of my picks to click on the HS scene this year is Park. A very good athlete with smooth actions and a whippy clean and fluid arm stroke, Park can get off online accurate throws for the OF and I saw him opening weekend at SS as well. He is smooth and sure handed and confident to his backhand as he made a nice play to his right and fired a strike to 1B and made it look easy. He also threw 4 innings on opening night in relief and K out 9 batters. It’s too early to tell where his future lies at a grounded position, as he is athletic and can make them look as though each is his primary position. With EV’s at 88-89, the strength will come as he is skinny and projectable. The 60 time of 7.2 should only get faster as he has a galloping long stride and gets out of the box well. As he gains lower leg strength and matures, look for all his metrics to jump. But the hands, feet, athleticism, loose arm and confident approach in the box, suggests a next level player for sure in 3-4 years.
11/20/21
Austin is a tall skinny athletic kid, with considerable upside and wiry overall strength. Showed well for a 14 yr old young player and doesn't turn 15 until summer '22. One of the better players at the Fall Prospect ID, which earned him an invite to the Preseason All-State event. A freshman at a very strong 3A HS program, Park has the ability to leave the park to the pull side and plays in the summers for the UCBA Barons Head Coach, Jeremy Thomas (Former 12 yr pitching coach at Dixie State/BYU). Austin has big hands and feet, with considerable room for another 30-40 lbs at maturity. Defensively showed educated feet in his approach to the baseball, with a loose, clean and fluid arm stroke. Can one hop his target now and should have an avg to abv avg arm from CF in short order. Offensively he has a clean pure RH hitting stroke, that gets to a solid position at launch, while driving his hands inside and through the baseball. The swing is on line and takes a direct path to the baseball, with a repeatable stroke. A 3 sport (Football, Basketball, Baseball) athlete, that should develop into a quality player, possibly a D1 player within the next couple of years. Definitely keep an eye on this kid!
