Arm: RH. INF-83 mph. Loose, clean arm action, high 3/4 slot. Strong, accurate throws.
Defense: Clean actions, bounce to first step, clean hands, good look to defensive actions.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.74 in the 10 yard split. 11.90 max vertical.
Dreier is, athletic, strong, and projectable 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Dreier hits with a well-sequenced swing from the ground up and a short quick hand path, registering the fifth hardest hit ball of the event despite being one of the youngest players in attendance. In the field, Dreier has natural actions and smooth reactions up the middle with plenty of arm strength to stick on the left side. Finally, on the mound, Dreier lit up the radar gun with a fastball that sat 84-85 mph, touching 85.5 mph multiple times, with impressive touch and command of the baseball to spots. His curveball had sharpness and late bite to the pitch at the plate, while sitting in the 70-71 mph range. Dreier’s 71-73 mph slider has more lateral sweep to the movement profile and gives hitters a different look and distinguishes itself from the curveball. He flashed feel for his change up and will likely continue to develop into a useful fourth pitch. Overall, it was a standout performance from this young up-and-coming prospect, and he certainly looks the part of one of the state's top freshman prospects.
RHP Eli Dreier (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2027) is a physically impressive 6-foot-1, 194-pound underclassmen to know in the state of Wisconsin. Dreier punched out six batters over four innings of work. His delivery has some explosiveness to it, paired with an 80-83 mph (T84) arm-side run fastball that had life to it. Dreier rounds out his repertoire with a big-break curveball that got swings and misses from opposing hitters throughout the game. Dreier can also swing it at the dish from the right side, collecting two hits in the same game.
Dreier started off the weekend showing off his arm talent on the mound. On the mound Dreier would strike out six in his first appearance, eight overall on the weekend. Working his fastball up to 82 mph while going to a curveball that flashed sharp breaking movement. Also a capable bat, Dreier tallied multiple hits on the weekend using his advanced strength for his age to collect multiple extra-base hits.
Drier has a tall frame that he utilizes for power. Drier has an upright stance and uses his lower half and hands to attack the zone to keep pitchers on their toes. Can be dangerous at the bottom of the zone where pulled a double to drive in a run. Defensively, Drier was at third base where he showed off his advanced arm.
Dreier has an athletic and projectable frame and is a RH hitting shortstop that hit three hole. Upright stance with loose hands, Lifted a pair of doubles over the left fielders head. Showcased advanced actions at shortstop, made the slow roller look easy with fluid actions and a quick release. Accurate throws throughout. Showed advanced actions that should continue to play on the left side of the field.
