A projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound lean and lanky arm. Started on the mound Thursday morning. Short and loose arm action, works from a high ¾ slot. Effortless tall/fall type delivery, upright balance point, lands square to target, upright finish. Theis sat 82-84 mph out of the gates, touching 85 mph twice with his fastball in the first inning. He held that same velocity throughout his brief three inning start, where he allowed only one hit and struck out four. Theis paired his lively heater with a breaking ball at 67-70 mph that he showed natural feel for. It’s important to note the upside Theis brings to the mound and he’s an interested uncommitted prospect on our radar.

Slider played at 67-69 mph, sweeping actions, thrown at any point in the count, feel for pitch. The RHP sturned in a solid outing of relief for Rockets Baseball in action against Pro Player Canes. Dominated when he took the hill possessing a fastball running it up to 82 mph, consistently sitting 77-81 mph. Also showed a devastating slider which was between 67-68 mph with sharp break, showed he wasn’t afraid to throw it in any count to any hitter.
