Unsigned Senior Showcase: Statistical Analysis

The Unsigned Senior Showcase took place on Sunday, January 21 at The MAX in McCook, IL. This event featured over 90 seniors from the Class of 2018. From a statistical standpoint, the arms on the mound and from the outfield were the most impressive. Nearly one-third (10-of-33) of the outfielders were clocked at 85 mph or better.

TOP 60 YARD DASH TIMES
The top 60 yard dash time belongs to the speedy outfielder Max Snowden (Grayslake Central, IL), who posted a 6.66. Middle infielder Zachary Lauras (Minooka, IL) came in a close second at 6.71.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
A number of arms on the mound came away from this event having made a statement. The athletic RHP Wes Sommers (Appleton North, WI) registered the hardest fastball on the day at 87 mph. Cameron Robinson (Champaign Central, IL) and his lanky, projectable frame was up to 86. Physical, strong RHP Mark Malczewski (Prospect, IL) ran his fastball up to 84.

TOP EXIT VELOCITY
Eight prospects managed to record exit velocities of 90 mph or greater off a tee. Steele Beatty (Pewaukee, WI) and Kevin Lapka (Lane Tech, IL) set the bar with 95 mph exit velocities, repsectively. Noah Miller (St. Rita, IL) and Tevin Lee (Du Quoin, IL) came up just shy at 93 mph each.

Ryan Flowers (St. Joseph, IL) and Tanner Cole (Marinette, WI) had the two strongest arms across the infield. Flowers arm played at 85 mph, while Cole came in 82.

TOP OUTFIELD VELOCITY
The arms from the outfield were plentiful and there are numerous worth mentioning. The top arm in the outfield also showed the most pop at the plate. Steele Beatty (Pewaukee, WI) took top honors at 89 mph from the outfield after posting a 95 mph exit velocity. Sneaking into the bottom of our leaderboard is Max Snowden (Grayslake Central, IL) at 86 mph, who kicked off the event with the top 60 yard dash time (6.66). One of the top arms on the mound, Cameron Robinson (Champaign Central, IL) showed his arm strength on the mound translates to the outfield, clocked at 87 mph. Noah Miller (St. Rita, IL) had one of the top exit velocities, 93 mph, and added to his day with one of the top velocities from the outfield at 88 mph.

Connor Bauer (Hinsdale Central, IL) posted the top pop time at 2.04 as well as the top cather velocity at 75 mph. Cole Sizemore (Carterville, IL) is the co-leader in catcher velocity to go along with his 2.11 pop time.
