2015 High School Season in Review (No. 28 Deep Run Wildcats)

Over the coming months, Prep Baseball Report Virginia/DC will take a look back at the 2015 season for each school that finished the spring in the final 2015 Power 25. In each article, we will not only recap the successful seasons of these 40 schools, but highlight the individuals who drove that success and preview what the outlook is for each team in 2016.

28. Deep Run Wildcats

 

Season Recap:
Deep Run had a strong 2015 season and finished the year 18-5 overall. The Wildcats captured the Conference 11 Championship with a win over State-Tournament bound Douglas Freeman and advanced to the 5A South Quarterfinals where they were eliminated by Clover Hill.

Key Performers:

Josh Duimstra: (MIF, 2016) Duimstra was named First Team All Conference 11 and to the 2nd Team All 5A South Region.

Matt Lisi: (OF) Lisi was named to the First Team All Conference 11 and to the 2nd Team All 5A South Region.

Mike Sweeney: (3B) Sweeney was named the Conference 11 Player of the Year and to the 2nd Team All 5A South Region.

2016 Outlook:
The Wildcats bring back four position players and the bulk of their pitching staff in 2016 as they look to defend their Conference 11 Championship and advance deeper the tough 5A South Regional Tournament.
