From now until the start of the 2015 season, Prep Baseball Report Ontario will bring you in-depth team previews throughout the entire state. If your coach has not filled out the survey please have him do so through this link.

Along with the team previews, the 2015 Team Rankings will be releasing sometime late February and we hope to bring a Q&A session to discuss the rankings.

2015 Team Preview: Hamilton Cardinals 18u

League Finish: Inaugural year of MEL

Hamilton Accomplishments:

  • 2014 Ancaster Midget Tournament

Strengths of Team:

  • Will be strong behind the plate
  • Corner infield play will be a key factor
  • Starting pitching will set the tone for the staff

Weaknesses of Team:

  • Young roster, will see how the take the step against older competition
  • Lack of power hitting
  • Outfield will be counted on to step up this year

General Notes:

Hamilton Head Coach Chris Glover looks for his Cardinals squad to be right in the middle of the pack this summer in the new Midget Elite League here in Ontario. Glover will look to his starting pitchers to be the tone setters, while the corner infield and catching positions will be strong points for the Cardinals.

With a team that has some youth, there is some question marks on how the young players will stack up against older competition. If the Cardinals can count on their arms to keep them in games, and the younger players do what they are capable of and not try and press, coach Glover and his team look to be right in the hunt come middle of the summer.
