The 2016 Super Prep Baseball Series is set to take place this week as many highly-ranked teams from seven states convene in Louisville for four days of highly competitive baseball. The event, which kicks off today with a 3:00 PM contest between Ballard (KY) and Lockport (IL), is expected to draw the attention of many college coaches and pro scouts.

The Ballard staff has been instrumental in assembling the impressive list of teams to compete and has contracted with Prep Baseball Report Kentucky to provide in-depth event coverage. The event begins in earnest on Thursday with a full slate of games on the schedule at Ballard High School.  Games will also be played at Fern Creek High School, South Oldham High School, and Thurman Hutchings on Friday and Saturday in addition to the action at Ballard. The event will wrap up on Saturday night.

The event will feature something for everyone, from some highly-ranked uncommitted players to some of the top players in the Midwest drawing significant attention from pro scouts this spring. All told, more than 60 players who have committed or signed to play at the next level will take the field during the event.
