2017 Rankings Breakdown: Left-Handed Hitters

Mathew Goodheart, INF/OF, Magnolia High School
Goodheart is a 6-foot-1 180-pound infielder with an athletic frame and build. An advanced offensive player as a left-handed hitter. He starts with a balanced stance, with a smooth load, he attacks the baseball with a line drive swing and fast bat speed. He stays balanced throughout his swing and has an advanced feel for the barrel. Defensively he plays through the baseball with solid footwork. His actions have some stiffness to them, he has a quick exchange and an accurate arm. He runs a 6.60 in the 60. Overall Goodheart is an elite athlete with an advanced offensive game.

Goodheart is the No. 8 ranked player in the 2017 class rankings, and is committed to San Jacinto College.

Adrian Hannah, CIF, Searcy High School
Hannah is a 6-foot-1 190-pound corner infielder with a large frame and an average build. He runs a 7.19 in the 60. Defensively he works through the baseball with some stiffness, with average footwork. He throws with a long arm action from a H ¾ arm slot, accurately. He throws the baseball 82 mph across the infield. Offensively he starts from a balanced stance, with a smooth load, a short stride and a uses solid hip rotation. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with a line drive swing. He shows balance through extension. Overall Hannah is an advanced left-handed bat that showed pull power.

Hannah is the No. 13 ranked player in the 2017 class rankings, and is committed to the University of Central Arkansas.

Kinner Brasher, OF, Southside High SchoolS
Brasher is a 6-foot 160-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. Brasher is a premium athlete running a 6.66 in the 60. He shows solid abilities in the outfield playing through the baseball with fluid foot work, and a normal exchange. He throws the ball accurately with carry. Offensively he starts from a tall stance, using a minimum load stride combination, he attacks the baseball with a line drive swing, he leaves his back side behind. He has a feel for the barrel and consistently sprays balls to all fields. Overall Brasher is a well-rounded player with a premium run tool and sound a defensive skill set.

Brasher is the No. 21 ranked player in the 2017 class rankings, and is committed to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Caleb Kimbel OF Har-ber High School
Kimbel is a 6-foot-1 220-pound OF/1B with a wide frame and a strong build. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid heavy footwork, using average hands with some stiffness, he uses a normal exchange with a short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. He throws the ball accurately. Offensively he starts from an open stance with a smooth load short stride. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with an uphill swing. He remains balanced through extension. Overall Kimbel is a physical player with raw strength and bat speed. 

Kimbel is the No. 25 ranked player in the 2017 class rankings, and is committed to the University of Central Arkansas.

Caleb Grace, OF/3B/RHP, Har-Ber High School
Grace is a 5-foot-11 180-pound athlete with an athletic frame and physical build. Grace showed the ability to play multiple position, flashing the ability to compete on the mound as well. Offensively he starts from an open stance, strides in to gets back online consistently. He attacks the baseball with a line drive swing with fast bat speed. When his approach stays to opposite field he is productive hitter, shows tendency to get around balls at times. Defensively showed the ability to play behind the plate or a corner infield spot. On the infield he played through the baseball with normal actions and strong accurate arm. Behind the plate he is a quiet receiver and shows the technique and effort required to be a sound blocking the baseball. He works through home plate throwing to second with a strong accurate arm. Overall Grace is well-rounded competitor who has the tools required to compete at the collegiate level. 

Grace is the No. 28 ranked player in the 2017 class rankings and is committed to Carl Albert State College.
