2018 INF Nathan Lyons Commits

2018 INF Nathan Lyons from Bentonville High School, has committed Little Rock over the week end. Lyons is the 4th ranked infielder in the 2018 class, he stands out due to his advanced feel with the bat.

He first attended the Northwest Arkansas Open Showcase at University of Arkansas Fort Smith in July of 2015. He stood out with advanced bat speed and a loose arm. He continued to impress in the spring of 2016 starting at 3rd base for Bentonville High School as they won the 7A West Conference Championship and advanced into the 7A State tournament.

Lyons performed well for Perfect Timing this summer continuing to show consistent production as a high level hitter should. He also attended the Underclass Games at University of Central Arkansas in mid-June. Below you will find our report on Lyons from that events.

Lyons is a 5-foot-10 185-pound infielder with an athletic frame and solid build.  Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a slight leg lift as his load/stride combination. He attacks the baseball with a line drive swing, with solid extension through the hit zone. He produces exit velocities up to 88 mph. Defensively he plays through the baseball with average footwork and solid glove actions. He uses a normal exchange and an accurate arm at 83 mph across the infield. Overall Lyons is an advanced offensive player with capable defensive tools.
