2020 Georgia Rankings (20 through 11)

Blake Davis
State Director

After last weeks release of Prep Baseball Report's High School National 2020 Rankings and this weeks release of the PBR Draft HQ's 2020 Draft Board it is a good time to start highlighting PBR Georgia's 2020 Rankings from 60-1. Today we focus on number 20 all the way to 11, this will be a good list of players and will give all the Georgia baseball fans insight into what games are can't miss this Spring around the State.

20. Jaden Woods, LHP, Houston County HS, (Georgia)

19. Caleb Ketchup, SS, Holy Innocents' Episcopal, (Georgia)

5/31/19

Georgia commit. #1 ranked 2020 SS in GA. Ketchup plays well above his 5-foot-9, 145 pound listing. Shows gap-to-gap power to all fields, as evidence by a triple to RF. 4.0 on the turn, with a slight hesitation. Launches from backside and has barreled balls every time we have seen him. Flashed smooth infield actions. Athleticism surely plays on both sides.

18. Wyatt Crowell, LHP, West Forsyth HS, (Florida State)

6/23/13

Athletic medium framed LHP comes from a L3/4 to 3/4 with excellent feel for spinning the baseball.  The FSU commit runs his fastball into the upper 80's and pitches aggressive to the zone.  Has some deception and moxie to what he does.

17. Garrett Spikes, OF, Mountain View HS, (Georgia)

3/16/19

Sneaky good athlete and future prospect.  Left-handed stroke with some bat-speed and a body to project on.  Actions are a little big defensively at SS, but he makes the plays he is supposed and even the ones is not suppose too.

16. Andrew Armstrong, LHP, Flowery Branch HS, (Florida State)

9/16/19

Armstrong is a talented 2020 left-hander from Flowery Branch who offers little projection in terms of future role, but what he has right now plays just fine. Armstrong can work underneath the baseball at times, but when it’s all in sync, he is hard to handle. The deception in his delivery help to play up two very effective secondary pitches. What Armstrong lacks in ceiling he more than makes up for in terms of his floor.

15. Carlson Reed, RHP, Marrietta HS, (West Virginia)

6/01/19

Has the body, athleticism and birthday MLB scouts will covet, but is still has plenty of projection left both good and bad.  Reed is still a little raw on the mound, but the ingredients he posses are super intriguing.

14. Parks Harber, 3B, Westminster, (Georgia)

13. John Anderson, 2B, North Gwinnett HS, (Georgia Tech)

12. Ben Schorr, C, Columbus HS, (Auburn)

5/07/19

Schorr has shown himself in the past to have solid right-handed power and the ability to handle himself at the plate.  He is committed to Auburn and has a chance to develop into a strong 2-way threat at the next level and beyond.

11. Fernando Gonzalez, C, North Cobb Christian, (Georgia)

10/04/19

Georgia recruit. A native of Panama, Gonzalez should quickly become one of the fastest rising national catching prospects in the 2020 draft class. 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter, compact build with lean strength. High-level defensive backstop. Possesses extremely soft hands, athletic feet and flexible hips; blocks well. Sticks pitches, steals strikes; overall framing abilities are advanced. Arm is strong and accurate with finish through the bag, consistent 1.95.2.10 pop times. Offensively, has a compact, balanced swing; generates easy bat speed and is strong at contact. Showed ability to hit to all fields. Lined a single back up the box; laced an outer-half fastball the other way, and has the hand speed to turn on the inner half. Runs well.
