The highly anticipated matchup between the defending 3A State Champion Independence Tigers and the Glen Allen Jaguars did not disappoint. The Jaguars jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after an Eli Brooks (Randolph-Macon) single and a walk to his brother Ethan Brooks (VCU) would put multiple runners on. Cameron Slough moved Eli Brooks to third and a few pitches later Ethan Brooks would get picked at first, but Eli would score on the rundown. In the top of the fourth Eli Wiggins would hit an infield single to the right side to tie it up for Indy. In the next inning David Mendez would put on a display, showcasing his offensive ability, as well as his speed and instincts on the bases. After singling, Mendez would steal second, then third, and eventually score on a wild pitch giving the Tigers the lead. Later that inning Michael Koerner would hit a RBI single to centerfield to give Indy the 3-1 lead. It was not until the bottom of the seventh that Glen Allen would finally get the offense going. CJ Johnson worked a full count walk before passing the baton to Jaden Kinsler. The Glen Allen starter and JMU commit would double to deep right field putting runners at second and third with nobody out. One pitch later Johnson would score on a wild pitch and then the magic kept coming. Andrew Harris doubled down the left field line to score Kinsler and tie it up. Indy would switch pitchers and one pitch into the relief outing a sacrifice bunt would get thrown into right field scoring Harris and walking it off for Glen Allen.
