All State Game Preview: Corner Infielders

The All State Games are rapidly approaching. This event will consist of the top 100 players from across the state. They will compete in a double elimination tournament separate by each region of the state. Below is our evaluation of some of the corner infielders that could impact the outcome of the tournament

2016 Brandon Hall, CIF/RHP, Lakeside HS
Hall is a 6-foot-1 190-pound CIF with a large frame and an athletic build. He is a solid offensive player with fast bat speed with a slight uphill swing. He shows pull side power with a rotational swing. He maintains balance through extension. Defensively he works through the ball with choppy footwork with a fluid exchange. He shows an accurate arm with carry.  He runs a 7.38 in the 60. Overall Hall is a physical player with an advanced feel for the barrel, he should develop into a quality corner infielder at the next level.

2017 CIF/RHP Paxton Wallace Greenbrier HS
Wallace is a 6-foot 200-pound with a large frame and a physical build.  Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he transitions with a smooth load. Once he gets loaded he attacks the baseball with fast bat speed, with a slight uphill bat path. He does a good job maintain balance through extension. Wallace has advanced bat speed and strength generating exit velocity up to 96 mph. defensively he does a sound job at first base with some stiffness to his actions. He runs a 7.13 in the 60.  Prior to his sophomore season Wallace was impressive on the mound pitching with a fastball down in the strike zone 82-85 mph up to 86 mph. He complimented that with a curveball and changeup with fastball arm speed. Overall Wallace is a physical athlete with raw power and is intriguing to follow as he gets back on the mound this fall.

2017 CIF Adrian Hannah Searcy HS
Adrian Hannah is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left handed hitting infielder with a large frame and an athletic build. He runs a 7.27 in the 60. Offensively generates bat speed creating 88 mph exit velocity. He starts from an athletic stance, a smooth transition to his load. He has a slight arm bar but uses quick hands to drive the baseball with raw pull power, defensively he has fluid footwork, as he plays through the baseball. His exchange is smooth, his arm is accurate with 78 mph across the infield. Overall left-handed power bats are going to draw a lot of attention, as Hannah moves he will garner attention due to his offensive abilities.

2017 CIF/RHP Logan Easley Heritage HS
Logan Easley, is a 6-foot, 165-pound RHP/INF with a medium frame and an athletic frame. He works from a high 3/4 arm slot with a fast clean arm. His delivery is fluid but lacks extension to finish the pitch. His fastball is 84-87 mph with arm-side run up to 89 mph that he can locate down in the zone. His secondary pitches are above average for a 2017 player. He throws a sharp 12/6 curveball at 66-68mph and a changeup with late sink at 76 mph. Easley runs a 7.26 in the 60 and throws 80 mph across the infield. He has plays through the ball defensively and has a quick exchange. Offensively he starts from a slightly open stance with a smooth load. He has fast bat speed generating exit velocity of 89 mph, with a short compact swing with a slight uphill swing plane. Easley does a good job maintaining balance through extension. He is going to be a player to watch over the three season of high school baseball with several above average tools.

Kade Stuart, 2018, CIF, Lonoke HS
Stuart is a 6-foot-1 155 CIF with a large frame and an athletic build. He showed plus athleticism for his age running a 6.97 in the 60. Defensively he worked through the baseball with soft hands. He had a fluid exchange and showed arm strength up to 82 mph. Offensively, he attacked the baseball fast bat speed, with exit velocity up to 84 mph. His swing is somewhat rotational with an uphill bat path. He did a good job driving balls to the pull side. Overall a solid young player showing above average tools in all areas.
